Officiant/ Best Man
Doug actually has a dual role in our wedding as my best man and as our officiant. I'm truly honored to have Doug be the one to marry us. How special is it to have your best man marry you!?! Doug and I have known each other for 25 years and truly have been through many ups and downs in life together. I got to officiate in his wedding last year and now it's his turn to return the favor.
Matron of Honor
Jenny is my beautiful little sister. I'm really lucky to have a sister like her because she's way cooler than I am, coaches me in fashion, and helps me break out of my nerdy shell from time to time. It only makes sense to have her be my Matron of Honor and help me get ready for this amazing day. While she is a strong, smart, and fierce woman, she'll probably be the first to break out the tissues on the big day, so keep an eye out for that :)
Groomsman
What an honor it is to have my beautiful fiancé's son standing next to me during during our wedding day. I will never forget the first time I met Ayden. He had me try on his virtual reality headset and play a video game where I had to dodge obstacles (like I was in the matrix). Phew, that was a workout, and I'm not sure how I was able to walk the next day! Ayden has brought so much to our relationship and I am very pleased with the man he is becoming!
Bridesmaid
Mallory, my "Mini Me", is my amazing, sweet, beautiful, funny, kind, and talented daughter. I am so very blessed to be her mama and so proud that I get to have her by my side as I marry Steve. She and Steve have such a beautiful bond that makes my heart smile. Steve asked both Ayden and Mallory for permission to propose marriage to me. Mallory is probably more excited than anyone about our engagement and continues to help plan this wedding as if it's her own!
Groomsman
Ryan and I have been running around together since we were fourteen. We have so many memories from high school, and our friendship has never perished since! He may be a Chargers fan, but that's ok. We all can't make good choices :) All kidding aside, I'm so proud to have him standing up there with me during this incredibly special day.
Bridesmaid
Sami and I met at Heights Church years ago in a ladies small group. We became fast friends and have shared so many wonderful memories doing church service projects and social outings. Whether we're off to a fun girls' trip or curled up on the couch in our matching wine pajamas, our conversation never stops. Sami is one of those "salt of the earth" kinds of people who has been a true friend and prayed with me through some of my most difficult and my best days. Naturally, I want Sami by my side when I marry the man of my dreams!
Groomsman
Bill and I met in 2010 in Colorado. Our first time meeting, through a mutual friend, was filled with laughter, shooting guns in the mountains, and some beer. Ever since then we have we have had many fun, heartfelt, and deep conversations. Although we are 1664 miles apart, we speak almost daily about everything in life! Bill and his wife, Jess, aren't just friends. They have become family.
Bridesmaid
Becky and I have been friends for over two decades since we were college roommates at THE University of Virginia (Go Hoos!). She's one of the most genuine, loyal, and selfless people I know. She readily lends an ear or a shoulder when I need it, and I've definitely used them both over the years. We have fun and laugh every time were together. I am blessed to have a person like her in my life and as my bridesmaid!
Groomsman
I get to call this cool dude "family" as we will soon be brothers-in-law. Chip and I met soon after Michele and I started dating and bonded immediately over a cold beer, camp fire, and our love of fishing and hunting. While I'm a more superior at playing Spades, he tries to be a good sport when losing and is almost as funny as I am.
Bridesmaid
Ashley and I met soon after Steve and I started dating. It's only natural that she and I would become close friends since our men have been best friends for 25 years! Last year at this time, she and Doug got married with Steve officiating their wedding. We are honored that they are spending their first wedding anniversary with us on our wedding day!
Groomsman
Words can't describe how much of an honor it is to have Carson as my son. He's the "Mini G.O.A.T.", and I am excited that he will be in our wedding. I am blessed to be his father and am incredibly proud of his academic and athletic achievements!
Junior Bridesmaid
Kenley made me an aunt. Ever since the day she was born you could just tell that she had such a sweet, gentle demeanor. Her beauty is evident - both inside and out. She gives the best hugs and has the cutest sense of humor for someone her age. I can't wait to see you all dolled up for the wedding day, Kenley Boo!
Father of the Groom
My dad, who identifies himself as "The Original Steve Parks", is an amazing man. He's an avid fisherman and my biggest fan. He coached my little league baseball team and never missing a baseball or basketball game while growing up. I am so thankful for the man he is and for his eternal support. Michele and I are so happy that he will be present to witness this day. "Bye-cycle!!!"
Flower Girl
Alivia, aka "Lou Lou", is the baby of the family and will be our precious flower girl. She is a ball of dancing, cart-wheeling energy and will become everyone's friend before the wedding night is over. Please plan to join her and the rest of our guests out on the dance floor as we celebrate the night!
Father of the Bride
To know my dad is to love him. He likes to relax by water, listen to his tunes, fishing, and ride in his golf cart. He loves to have family come to the river and enjoys watching us all have fun and being together. He's proud to say that he doesn't need reading glasses and that his hair is "platinum blonde", not grey. Dad's gotten sentimental over the years, so watch out for tears from this big guy as well.
Mother of the Bride
My mom is one the strongest, most determined people I know. She's an amazing mom, grandmother, and wife. I've learned so much from her and she has always encouraged me to be my best and has been my biggest fan. I'm thankful for everything she has done for me over the years, her support, and to help me get ready for this special day!
