Bride
Our first crazy adventure was going on a cruise ship with each other, 6 months into dating and I knew this was the start of many adventures together!
Groom
She warned me early on that her and her cat were a package deal. I fell in love with them both considering they share the same traits. Beautiful, playful, ready for any adventure, and harasses me for food constantly.
Maid of Honor
My first interaction with Alex was when she was calling around Starbucks looking for a transfer from Atl. When I saw the caller id and realized we were from the same town, I just knew we were going to be friends!
Best Man
I remember when we were little, he saw a magician doing card tricks at a party. He took two cards, bent one so he would know the difference, and asked me to choose a card. I picked one, then he took it back and shuffled just the TWO CARDS. He then asked is THIS your card? He still somehow got it wrong and remembered him throwing the cards yelling "SHIT!".
Bridesmaid
Alex and I go way way back. She held me when I was a baby, because that's what big sisters do. I'm happy that she is the one I grew up reading web comics with as a child on our mom's computer. I'm so glad that Alex, Michael, and their cat Tybee are finally becoming a family. I love the three of them and am happy to have Michael as my brother-in-law!
Groomsman
I really admire how he is always so confident, creative, intelligent, hilarious, and just so God damn hot right now. "It's a big fish OOOOOHHHHH!"
Bridesmaid
Alex and I were roommates at the Dave's School. After our first night in the apartment, I knew we were going to be good friends. However, after our year and a half of being together going through stress and sleepless nights; she became more than just my friend, she became my sister. I'm so happy to be standing by her side on her wedding day!
Groomsman
When we were in our late teens, I asked Michael to play a no-nonsense police captain in a comedy short film. His performance was so perfect, I used his versions of the lines years later in the book adaptation.
Bridesmaid
I married into the family through Alex's brother, Kevin. I got to know Alex and Michael very well by hiking, slightly getting lost, through the deserts of Nevada and Arizona. Many laughs were exchanged and memories created, even when they wanted to stop at Starbucks every hour!
Groomsman
I ran into a wall during flag football and got a deep gash above my eye. Went to the bathroom to try my new stapler to fix the cut and kept slapping staple after staple across my eye brow. The scene is one at a time the team and opponents team keeps walking in to ask how I'm doing seeing Michael scrubbing the floor on blood duty, while I attempted my now 30th skin stapler job.

Mother of the Groom
“Where's Michael?" The usual place, his favorite place, the birthplace of his tremendous focus, concentration, and creativity. Before answering I leaned out the back door, just to make sure I knew where he was. Hearing the rhythmic crunching of leaves and an occasional squeak assured me that he was there. I peeked over the rail of the deck to get a glimpse of the blissful expression as he imagined things to invent, places to explore, and skills to perfect. You can't really explain where Michael goes on these occasions, so I just answered, "He's jumping on the trampoline.”
Father of the Bride
One cold morning, I carried Alex into Kindergarten wrapped inside my winter coat. I asked if she wanted to walk in like a big girl. She hugged me tighter and emphatically said “no”. Over the years, I thought on that as I’ve encouraged her forward - but secretly I’m so happy she sometimes holds on to me a little longer. I love you so much “my little engine of destruction”.
Father of the Groom
When Michael announced he was applying to GA Tech, a notoriously tough college, my fatherly anxiety stirred. He then said he was signing up for a dual degree in Aeronautical Engineering and Physics my anxiety went off like a fire alarm. My “Are you sure Michael?” was ignored. He not only graduated on time and with great grades, but immediately followed by completing a Masters program. Now my only anxiety is that he’s going to make me call him “Doctor” when he gets a PHD. So proud of you Michael. I don’t think there’s anything you put your mind to that you can’t accomplish.
