We would love to thank Lucky Fish Scuba for making this possible!
We kicked things off at a Starbucks. While Alex was working the register, she gave Michael a friendly hello since we haven't seen each other since high school. She asked him if he still had her number, tricking him into exchanging numbers for the first time. After just a bit of back and forth texts, they decided to go for a date at the Lake Lanier Trails. It ended up lasting for hours talking about shows, school, and ideas for the future. Michael had no idea that shortly after, Alex would become his gym buddy, dive buddy, and eventually his partner for life.
Alex got Michael into diving back in 2018 for a trip in Hawaii. He fell in love with it as he did with Alex. As the time came when he knew he wanted to pop the question, it felt only right to do it on a dive. With the help of his family, they planned a scuba trip down to Key Largo with only Michael's family and the dive master in on the plans to propose while deep in the ocean. While doing everything possible not to spoil the surprise, Michael stored the ring in his dive suit checking what felt like 1000 times to make sure it didn't drop, float away, or be snagged by fish during the swim. Now all we had to do was distract Alex while Michael got out the ring. On one knee, Alex thought Michael was having suit issues and was trying to fix his gear while reaching for the box. As she came to help, out came the ring throwing her completely by surprise. Dive master Glenn, said he has never seen someone cry under water until now. When we reached the surface, Michael asked if her gesture was a yes. After a good laugh, she confirmed it was in fact a resounding YES! Everything turned out perfect! We're so excited to celebrate this next adventure in our lives with you! See you in St. Augustine Beach!
