Michael and Elizabeth met each other on the second day of dental school orientation, when Michael made a shrieking noise behind her in lecture hall 13-041 at the UCLA School of Dentistry, triggering her to turn around and scowl at him in shock. They were both revolted. Soon after, however, they became part of the same friend group and got to know each other’s energetic and goofy personalities. Although they were separated into different groups for gross anatomy lab, being in opposite halves of the alphabet, they were coincidentally assigned to share the same locker. They began leaving notes for each other at the end of every dissection, filled with inside jokes and references, for the other person to find at the start of their lab session. Who’s to say how much the formaldehyde fumes had an effect, but somewhere between these little notes, early morning lectures, late night study sessions, weekend lab practice hours, and LA exploration and living, Elizabeth and Michael fell in love and became inseparable.
