Beginning our happily ever after

While living and Bumble-ing in Japan, Shima and Mike both swiped right. Shima sparked the conversation with a casually alluring "Hey Mike how are you doing?" He responded with an endearing joke, now famous among Shima’s friends. A flurry of flirty messages followed. For their first date, they ordered pizza for dinner at Tokyo Farmer's Kitchen. Mike was so nervous, the butterflies in his stomach left room for only a couple slices. Shima nibbled on two as well. They left almost half a pizza untouched. Several months into their relationship, Shima confessed she’d been starving at dinner that night — but she hadn’t wanted to eat more than Mike. When she got home after their date, she had to make herself a second meal. On the evening Mike proposed, he took Shima back to Tokyo Farmer's Kitchen. They ordered two pizzas — and they ate every bite. After two years full of amazing experiences all over Japan — from climbing Mt. Fuji and learning to snowboard to exploring different cities and (unsuccessfully) trying to keep Mike from frying to a crisp on sun-drenched beaches — they’re embarking on their biggest adventure yet. In Istanbul, halfway-ish between their home countries, and a world away from where they met, they’ll start a whole new life together.
