Travel Note
Drink LOTS of water (more on adjusting to altitude below)Sunscreen at all times is a must!! We are a mile closer to the sun and you sure can feel it! Dress/pack layers as it's cooler in the shade and when the sun goes down. Popular brunch spots have long wait times so be sure to plan accordingly with timing if you have a larger party and/or need to catch a flight out of town. Monitor your alcohol intake – In Colorado’s rarified air, golf balls go ten percent farther- and so do cocktails. Alcoholic drinks pack more of a wallop than at sea level. It is recommended that you go easy on the alcohol in the mountains.
Travel Note
DRINK WATER! – Before your trip to Colorado and while you are here. Drinking plenty of water is the best way to help your body adjust easily to our higher altitude. The low humidity in Colorado keeps the air dry, like the desert, so you need about twice as much water here as you would drink at home. Replenish electrolytes – Consider foods and drinks that will help you replenish electrolytes. Watch your physical activity – The effects of exercise are more intense here. Be mindful of this when you go for a run or a hike and plan on a shorter distance.

A bit further away (~1.5 hrs). Rental car and shuttling in between airports are options. Groome Transportation has daily scheduled travel (still must book ticket) between DIA and COS, ~$50-55 pp and ~2 hr trip.
