Sheridan and Michael met during their employment at Hartford Hospital. Their fates would cross paths during a late consult placed to the Speech and Language department from the Medical ICU team, and the receiver of that consult was Sheridan. Michael was familiar with Sheridan from brief interactions in the past, but this day he felt a strong connection to Sheridan despite only seeing the browns of her eyes. Sheridan was also familiar with Michael, already thought he was a cutie ;), and was oblivious to any interest he may have showed that day. In her usual way, Sheridan went above and beyond for the lucky patient, part of which included a swallow evaluation after a long intubation from COVID and calling the patient’s family so they could hear her voice while using a Spanish interpreter. Little did Sheridan know, Michael was prodding his co-workers while she was on the unit for any information they may have had on the stunning clinician that had caught his eye. Once completed, using the hospital’s secure messaging system, Sheridan shared the result of the consult with Michael to which he made a sly comment, purposely down playing his small, yet more extensive than Sheridan’s knowledge of Spanish to continue any stream of communication he had with her. Then radio silence. Three days later, Michael awoke to a friend request from the girl who had been on his mind since their interaction. Immediately he went to work formulating the perfect message to strategically put his nose into her dating business and see if he could take her out. As Sheridan playfully responded to his not so subtle questions, she accepted his request to have a dinner date that ended up starting it all. It was easy for them to know they met their souls match early on in their relationship :’) And yes, Sheridan found out Michael knew quite a bit more Spanish than he lead on during that initial secure messaging.
