Time to celebrate this marriage

How does an Irish lawyer living and working in London and an American eCommerce executive from the East Village, Manhattan end up together? An instant spark, a joint sense of adventure, countless late nights full of laughter, a ton of love, an immense amount of cheese, a ridiculous number of miles flown, a bit of luck... and maybe even a global pandemic. Our love story started on a beautiful evening in September 2019 when we met at our combined friends' Aoife and Mark's wedding in gorgeous Ostuni, Italy. Aoife and Sarah were longtime friends from school in Ireland, while Mark and Michael became friends a few years prior when Mark was visiting NYC during his rugby off-season. Obviously, on such a perfect evening love was in the air (tequila shots were also in no shortage) and we struck an instant connection. Luck would have it that Michael was heading to London the following week and we were able to meet up again. That's when and where our forever started. Over the next 21 months we became closer than close: constant flights back and forth between London and NYC, hunkering down together during covid quarantines and lockdowns (fun fact, Michael spent over 60 days of 2021 in quarantine), jointly working all-day from our kitchen-table office, and endless trips together around the North East, USA, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. The world was in many ways melting down around us, but we were having the time of our lives. So much so that in early 2021, we decided that given the state of the world we would go ahead and get married that summer. On June 16th, 2021 we were married at Tower Hamlets in London amongst the smallest group of friends and family given covid restrictions. While it killed us not having you there, we were more than excited to kick-off our lives together. But did you really think we wouldn't have an absolute banger of a celebration? See you May 26, 2023!
