Michael used Forest Park to lure Radha to St. Louis. It is one of the nations largest and most incredible urban parks with over 1,300 acres. Included for FREE in the park are the St. Louis Zoo (worth it's own posting), the St. Louis Art Museum, the Missouri History Museum (a real museum), the St. Louis Science Museum, the Muny (an outdoor musical theater venue), golf courses, a boathouse, a ice rink, biking trails, and tons more. Please just look it up and explore! We know you will fall in love too.
Cool animals. Beautiful spaces. Free admission. The St. Louis Zoo is definitely one of St. Louis's crown jewels. Radha's favorite exhibit is the penguins (smelly, but so fun!). Michael's favorite are the Prairie dogs. Please review the website for COVID restriction updates. As of June 2021, registration is required for admission.
The museum title is very misleading. The City Museum is part urban jungle gym, part art installation. It has a 10 story slide and a Ferris Wheel on the rooftop. This is probably the most unique place in St. Louis. If you go, wear sneakers and clothes you are willing to climb in! There is a reasonable admission cost. Radha's favorite spot is the bar on the rooftop looking at the Arch or inside the elevated plane.
Just around the corner from our venue is the Botanical Gardens! This is where we got engaged. Gorgeous space that is worth the cost of admission. In April, the tulips should be amazing. Radha's favorite spot in the koi pond in the Japanese Garden. Michael's favorite is the rose garden.
You may have noticed the Wheel driving around the city. St. Louis Union Station includes the St. Louis Aquarium, Wheel, ropes course, mini golf, and several restaurants. It is an interesting place to walk around and get a unique view of the city.
