A great location for some very light hiking and outdoor exploration.
John Boyd Thacher State Park
A light hour long hiking trail with beautiful views of the Hudson Valley. Fun fact- Mike likes to drive here when we visit the area just to see the view!
Indian Ladder Farms
A local farm where we pick our own apples every year. During the summer they also have fresh produce and pick your own berries!
Jake Moon Restaurant and Cafe
A diner off the beaten path that focuses on farm to table food. It's our go-to for brunch when visiting the Albany area!
Perfect Blend
Recently re-modeled, this is our favorite cafe/coffee shop in the area. They also have great pastries and a great selection of breakfast or lunch options.
3Fish Coffee
A coffee shop that's owned and operated by alumni of Rachel's middle school. We love checking out their changing house-made syrups which are particularly great in their lattes.
Spectrum 8 Theatres
Our go-to movie theatre in the area. It's a smaller theatre with old school charm that shows both featured films and movies that you may not see elsewhere.
New World Bistro Bar
We went here to celebrate our engagement with Rachel's parents. A fun gastro bar with a farm to table focus and an eclectic and delicious menu.

Rachel's favorite Indian restaurant- when she celebrates her birthday in the Albany area this is her restaurant of choice.
