Hey everyone, Michael here. Phoebe hasn't authorized me to type this out but that's her fault for giving me the login information. Here's my story on how we met: One fateful night in May 2019, the course of my life was forever changed. My roommate at the time informed me that her coworkers from the cafe would be celebrating a birthday at our humble abode. The birthday girl? Her name was Phoebe. I had just returned home from a discus event (frisbee practice -- classic) and was dirty, disheveled, downright deplorable. I recall sitting in my living quarters and hearing a knock at the door, greetings in the parlor...when all of a sudden, that beautiful fair maiden called Phoebe appeared in front of me. Oh heavens, what shameful timing! What beast mired her lovely gaze! We exchanged pleasantries, but in my horrendous state, I muttered my name, bathed, changed, and hastened out the door, nary a "Goodbye" or "Happy birthday". It appeared my chance at romance had come and gone in the blink of an eye. I shudder thinking about it to this day. [Phoebe has no recollection of this meeting. Now I'm not sure what that says about me, but whatever, it all worked out in the end.] A fortnight (two weeks) passed before I had the honor of being in her presence once more. Since then, Phoebe had taken residence at the apartment building directly next to mine. I couldn't believe my good fortune, but how ever would I overcome that tragic first encounter? I ceaselessly fretted. Fear not, past Michael, for the historic taverns of Pacific Beach are warm and welcoming places, where worries are washed away and love lingers like the ocean breeze. It was at one of those pubs where I saw Phoebe for the second time -- this time looking less sweaty -- and we connected instantly, sharing about our lives over soft jazz and soft drinks (I actually think it was blasting electronic music and a PBR tallboy and a G&T). After five years of courtship, I asked Phoebe to marry me in a gondola (but not the kind that's on Venetian canals, the kind that's in the air high above the San Diego Zoo). I was overcome with happiness and joy when she said "Yes". We could not be more delighted to celebrate with our family and friends and to start our next story on Friday, November 7, 2025!
