Michael and Paola attended their first day at Hartgrove Behavioral Hospital in December of 2019. Though Michael was head over heels from the beginning, the same could not be said for Paola. She stood him up after being invited to a New Year’s Eve party, and she will never hear the end of it. Michael was broken hearted, but it wasn’t enough to stop him, chatting her up every time he came in for his shift. They had their first date on January 7th.

La primera vez que Michael y Paola se conocieron fue en el primer día en el Hospital de Hartgrove en diciembre del 2019. Fue amor a primera vista para Michael, pero no se puede decir lo mismo para ella. Paola lo dejó plantado cuando la invitó a una fiesta de Año Nuevo, y el nunca se cansará de recordárselo. Michael tenía el corazón partido, pero no fue suficiente para pararlo, coqueteando con ella cada que entraba a trabajar. Tuvieron su primera cita el 7 de enero.

As nervous as he was, Michael began planning the engagement and asked her parents for her hand in marriage in August. With the help of the maid of honor and his exquisite taste, Michael designed the perfect ring. Many ideas ran through his head and he decided the simpler the better. The day started off with an homage to their second date at La Cathedral where they had brunch, but Michael was too nervous to finish his torta. And if there’s one thing Paola knows, it’s that Michael finishes his food. They then engaged in their favorite pastime, taking a walk down the lakefront in Lincoln Park. They strolled down their typical path, trying to be as natural as possible while he felt the opposite. After expressing his adoration and love for her, he was able to muster up the courage and finally pop the question, “Will you marry me?”

Michael empezo a planear como le pediría la mano a Paola en agosto, y con la ayuda de Daniela, le diseño el anillo perfecto. Nerviosamente, sentó a sus futuros suegros para pedirles la mano de su hija. El tenia varías ideas para como pedirle la mano pero concluyó con algo sencillo. Empezó con un desayuno en La Catedral donde tuvieron una de sus primeras citas. Paola sospechaba algo porque se dio cuenta que Michael no se terminó su torta, y el siempre se termina la comida. Después, Michael los llevó a su favorito lugar para caminar, frente al lago en Lincoln Park. Hizo todo el esfuerzo para que todo sea natural, aunque él se sentía lo opuesto. Por fin, le llegó la confianza para preguntarle lo que ella esperaba… “te casas conmigo?”
