Michael and Maria’s story began in the spring of 2023, at a local sand volleyball court. Maria was in Atlanta on a three-month assignment with her company, never imagining that a casual game would introduce her to someone who would change her life. What started as easy conversation between serves quickly turned into undeniable chemistry. Between matches, they discovered shared passions — volleyball, travel, dancing, and a mutual longing for warm, sun-soaked places. As the weeks passed, friendship deepened into something far more meaningful. With Maria’s return to Europe drawing closer, it became impossible to ignore what they had found in each other. Neither was ready to let go. They decided to make it official, determined that three months would not be the limit of their story. Maria returned home with a plan to secure a two-year visa and make her way back to Atlanta as soon as she could. But love doesn’t wait patiently. Less than a week after she left, missing her more than he thought possible, Michael booked a next-day flight to Estonia. That spontaneous decision — oceans crossed without hesitation — became the first of many grand gestures that defined their relationship. Over the next six months, they navigated long distance with unwavering commitment, filling the miles with plane tickets, countdowns, and tearful airport reunions, until Maria finally secured her visa and returned to Atlanta for good. Together again, they moved into a new apartment and later purchased their own condo in 2025 — creating a life rooted in partnership and adventure with their beautiful dog Millie by their side. They’ve explored more than 10 U.S. National Parks in pursuit of their shared dream to visit all 63, collecting memories beneath vast skies and mountain peaks.  Knowing Maria’s love for flowers and beautiful gardens, Michael chose the enchanting Atlanta Botanical Garden for his proposal. On one of the coldest nights in mid-December, surrounded by twinkling lights and a small crowd of unsuspecting onlookers, he asked the question that had been written in their hearts for months. With a sweet smile and visible surprise, Maria said, “Yes!” When it came time to choose where to begin their next chapter, the answer felt natural: Miami Beach. Their first trip together was to the vibrant shores of South Beach, and they’ve returned time and again for sunshine, volleyball, and the magic that place holds in their story. Miami Beach is more than a destination — it’s a reflection of their love: warm, joyful, and full of life. Now, they can’t wait to celebrate surrounded by the people they love most, in one of the places that first felt like theirs.
