Flight Options from Major U.S. Cities to Dubrovnik

NEW YORK Travelers from the New York City area can fly nonstop from Newark (EWR) to Dubrovnik (DBV) with United Airlines, taking about 9 hours. This is the fastest and most convenient option if you want to avoid layovers. If you’re willing to make one stop (usually cheaper), good value routes are available via major European hubs: Frankfurt (FRA), Munich (MUC), Zurich (ZRH), Vienna (VIE), Amsterdam (AMS), Paris (CDG), or Rome (FCO), served by premium carriers like Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian, Air France, and ITA Airways. CHICAGO From Chicago (ORD), there are no nonstop flights, but the fastest and cheapest current route is via Frankfurt with Lufthansa, about 11.5 hours. Other one-stop flights connect through Newark (United Airlines), Munich, Zurich, or Vienna. For example, Chicago → NY → Dubrovnik on United takes about 13.25 hours. LOS ANGELES/SAN FRANCISCO From Los Angeles or San Francisco (LAX/SFO), one-stop flights connect through Newark (United), Munich or Frankfurt (Lufthansa, Discover), Zurich (Swiss), or Istanbul (Turkish Airlines). Munich (13.4 hours,/Lufthansa) and Frankfurt(14.5hours/Lufthansa) have more efficient layovers, while Istanbul routes (Turkish Airlines) are usually longer in total travel time. LA → NY → Dubrovnik on United is also an option, 16 hours, but usually takes longer. BOSTON If traveling from Boston (BOS), one-stop options through Frankfurt (Lufthansa), Munich (Lufthansa), Zurich (Swiss), or Amsterdam (KLM, Delta) are available. Alternatively, you could take a train to NYC and catch the United nonstop, which might save time overall.
