The walls of Dubrovnik (Dubrovačke gradske zidine) date back to the 10th century, though most of the fortifications you see today were built and reinforced between the 12th and 17th centuries. The walls of Dubrovnik are almost 1.2 miles long (warning: with many steps!), and take around 2 hours to walk the full circuit. You can finish your stroll early at one of the three entrances, but we highly recommend doing the full circuit to see all sides of this spectacular city. Be sure to bring water and sunscreen! There are three entrances to the Dubrovnik Wall - we recommend the entrance by Ploče Gate. Once you enter the city through Ploče Gate, you will cross a small bridge and continue walking down to Sv. Dominika Street. You will see the Dominican church on your right, and on your left will be a small Gothic-style church (St. Luke). Next to St. Luke is a stone archway where you can purchase tickets to enter the Dubrovnik Walls (35 euros).
The Dubrovnik Synagogue is one of the oldest Sephardic synagogues still in use today and a significant landmark in Dubrovnik’s cultural and religious history. Established in the 14th century and formally recognized in 1408, it is the second-oldest synagogue in Europe and the oldest Sephardic synagogue still active.
Take a quick cablecar (žičara) ride to the summit of Mount Srđ, 1,300 feet above sea level. Enjoy panoramic views of the expansive Adriatic Sea, Old Town Dubrovnik, Lokrum Island and the surrounding Elaphiti islands. At the summit, you’ll find Fort Imperial (built by Napoleon in 1810) as well as Panorama Restaurant and Bar, where you can enjoy some food or drinks. The cablecar station is located outside of the Old Town walls, so you’ll need to exit through Ploče Gate to get there. Once you exit Ploče Gate, you will take a 5-minute walk up to the Dubrovnik Cablecar Station. Find more infomration and buy tickets using the link below
