We we're originally planning on getting married in October of 2026 - if you remember, we even had save the dates made and distributed! But... it turned out that fate and love had other ideas for us, and we got married on New Year's Eve instead in a private ceremony. Now, we've changed it up a little by deciding to throw a shindig on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10TH, 2026 with our family and friend's to celebrate. It's never too late for a party and really, who needs a reason to eat and listen to music?
Honestly, the Winslow LDS hall is the only indoor place that's big enough to accommodate our guest list and we were lucky they were able to lend us the space. We've got a big family (well...the bride does) and we want to make sure there's enough space for everyone to be comfortable. This is why it is SUPER IMPORTANT to RSVP with us!
We are keeping things super casual, we plan on having a good meal served, music to enjoy and providing an opportunity for everyone to come together. Its been so long since there's been a reunion or a family gathering and we figured this could be the place to do it, why not!?! Also, please know that we are indeed a fun, spirited bunch when we all get together - but we will not serve alcohol at the reception. This is due to facility restrictions. Thank you in advance for respecting this aspect of our reception. We want everyone to be safe and present while celebrating with us.
Certainly! We greatly appreciate you taking the time to provide a dish. As we figure out the menu in the coming months, we will be happy to talk with you about what you would like to bring. The staple foods are always great (chili stew comes to mind, Aunties). We strongly suggest you bring it in a disposable container that you won't miss (So you're not asking everyone afterwards - who took my cookware!) and with its own spoon, spatula or fork for serving. It doesn't have to be pricy or fancy at all.
We really would love to invite EVERYONE in Winslow because the bride knows a lot of people in town. But the reality is, we are newlyweds on a very strict budget! We ask that you help us out by only adding your plus one, or immediate fam to the RSVP. We want to ensure that there's enough food and room for everyone to have a good time. Plus, it'll be kind of awkward to see someone's cousin's, brother's, sister's friend's former roommate show up. (Just kidding). If you have questions, we can talk about it and reach a solution. We love everyone and want to keep things simple and respectful.
Our advice is to not wait on booking a room. Winslow is a small city with a few accommodations but they do tend get booked quickly. Check out the Travel Accommodations page to see a list of hotels that are available. Also, if you are used to a bigger city where things are open late at night, this is not the same type of vibe. Please note that most restaurants in Winslow close by 8 or 9, and stores (Wal-Mart / Safeway) close around the same time. If you are making this a few day's trip you are taking, please prepare accordingly. Winslow can be a fun, easy getaway so let us know how we can help suggest something to you to make the best of it.
YES WE ARE! As with anything, this takes some planning, scrimping and saving. Please note that our Registry page on this website has our Honeymoon and Newlywed Fund goals. No pressure, no expectations from anyone, but we've gotten quite a few questions about our plans and we wanted to let you know how to find the information easily.
