A match was lit online in January of 2020. For their first date and being that Krista was currently attending Eastern Michigan University. Michael suggested going to the Wurst bar; one of his favorite places during his time at EMU. 5 hours and a shift change later, their first date concluded with both of them wanting a second date. February 19th, 2020 was when they became a couple which ensued serval years full of fun and memories. Being that this was in the middle of a pandemic, dates consisted of puzzles, movies, board games, and too much food. As the world opened back up to all of us, dates switched up to hiking, dining out, theaters, and more! They began to travel around to Colorado, Texas, Florida, and Nevada.

When planning their future together, Krista made Michael promise he wouldn't propose in the middle of the semester because she wanted to be able to enjoy the moment. Krista and Michael planned a relaxing weekend away in Traverse City once the semester officially ended. Krista assumed Michael would propose in Traverse City. Friday, December 16, Michael planned a celebratory dinner in Brighton and then drinks at Brewery Becker. That night Michael had his sister MacKenzie and his friend Jon set up lights, pictures, and flowers in the bier garden at Brewery Becker. Michael led Krista out there by saying Jon was waiting for them to get drinks even though it was freezing and there was snow everywhere. Krista followed and once they got up to the lights Michael dropped to one knee and while holding back tears asked Krista to marry him. She of course said "YES!" All of the people in Brewery Becker cheered for them as they walked in and upstairs Michael coordinated for all of their close friends to celebrate with them.

Michael and Krista moved to Dansville after purchasing a home in November 2023. They adopted their puppy Jeff in February of 2024. They like to spend their time cooking meals and trying new recipes. They also love trying new beers either from stores or breweries. Michael is currently working in Cyber Security and Krista is graduate student of Occupational Therapy with plans to take her boards in the fall of 2024.
