The Buena Vista - Famous for making the first Irish Coffee in the United States, the Buena Vista serves up 2,000 Irish Coffees a day and yes, they’re really good! Ghirardelli Square Chocolate & Ice Cream Shop - Grab extra spoons and try Katherine’s go-to–order, the Land’s End salted caramel brownie sundae. Take a Water Taxi: We took a scenic route around Alcatraz and past the Golden Gate bridge. We recommend this for a unique perspective of the city from the water. Take a Trolley Car: The Powell-Hyde line and Powell-Mason line both start within Fisherman’s Wharf and end on California Street in front of the wedding block hotels.
Alcatraz Island is located in the middle of the San Francisco Bay and has a famous history of being a federal prison from 1934 to 1963. Today, visitors can explore the prison and the island through a variety of tour options.
This area has a big park with hiking trails and phenomenal views. Crissy Field: Take the flat, easy promenade path for a nice walk or jog on the coastline. Crissy Field Beach offers soft sand and is a favorite for the Campbell’s dog. Golden Gate Bridge: It’s pretty easy (and free) to walk across the bridge. Another fun option is to rent a bike from Blazing Saddles and bike across to towns like Sausalito and Tiburon in neighboring Marin County. Tartine Bakery: There’s always a long line out the door for Tartine’s mouthwatering, exceptionally buttery and crisp croissants. He morning bun is another favorite, coated in cinnamon brown sugar. Mission Dolores Park: A popular hangout spot with sweeping views of the city, perfect for picnics and people-watching La Taqueria: It’s the perfect spot for a cheap, authentic CalIfornia burrito.
