Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

YES! Check to see if your passport is VALID and not EXPIRED. To be safe, renew your passport if it expires within the 6 month window of the wedding. You will need it to arrive in Mexico. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/have-passport.html

Question

What airport do I fly into?

Answer

Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR)

Question

When should I arrive to Mexico?

Answer

We will have a welcome cocktail party at the hotel on Thursday that all are welcome to. Friday's events will start promptly at 3:30pm for departure to the island and there is no alternate way so please be mindful in choosing your day to fly in on Wednesday 11/12 or Thursday 11/13. Travel delays like customs, transportation to the hotel, check in will take longer than you think (keep in mind a 9am flight from Chicago gets you to your room by 3-4pm) !

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta! Head over to the Explore + Stay section for hotel accommodation details.

Question

When should I rsvp by?

Answer

To help us with our planning, please SOFT RSVP by 2/28/2025. We will send formal invitations with a final RSVP later on. We ask that maybe's select 'will attend' and unlikely to select 'will not attend'. Thank you!

Question

Transportation?

Answer

Transportation support from the airport to Hyatt Ziva will be provided closer to the date; please provide us your flight details in your formal RSVP. Transportation to the catamaran and back are provided (if you are staying at Hyatt Ziva). The catamaran is the only way to our wedding venue! If you would like to leave the resort during your trip we recommend Uber, Taxis (uber app same as what used in US and converted to MXN pesos, Taxis prefer MXN pesos cash).

Question

Where is the wedding?

Answer

Our wedding ceremony and reception is located on a private island! We will be traveling to and from the island via catamaran - this is the only way there so please check the wedding day schedule!

Question

How do I get to and from the ceremony/reception?

Answer

We will provide a shuttle bus transportation to/from the catamaran. The catamaran boat ride will take you to/from our wedding venue which is only accessible via boat! Please be mindful in the schedules tab for details. The boat ride to the venue is 45 minutes and returning is 1 hour. Includes open bar! If you get motion sickness please take dramamine 30 minutes prior to departure of shuttle (roads are brick) or boat.

Question

What time should we be ready on the day of the wedding?

Answer

Be ready in the lobby no later than 3:30pm !

Question

What should we wear?

Answer

Welcome Party: Please consider an outfit you would wear to a nice dinner on vacation! Sandals welcome as it will be beach side. Wedding: Tropical Elegant (Beach Formal) Attire ! | Our wedding will be outdoor, please keep this in consideration for your outfit comfortability (the day is humid and the nights you may want a jacket or wrap). We ask that men wear collared long shirts and pants (optional suit/tie), and closed shoes. We ask that women wear cocktail dresses (mini, midi, maxi welcome) and to consider flat sandals, wedge, platform or block heel with the rocky terrain. We would love to see everyone in their tropical best - please wear COLOR! No black (or white ; ) !) dresses. For inspiration head over to: the attire tab!

Question

Cash - Do I need to bring some?

Answer

We recommend for you to bring cash for tipping, souvenirs, etc. USD $ are welcome for tipping at the hotel (typically a couple of dollars for service providers like restaurants, bartenders). Taxis prefer MXN pesos. Exchange Rate: $1 USD = ~$20.15 MXN Peso

Question

Is this a kids' friendly wedding?

Answer

We love your little ones, however the wedding ceremony and reception will be limited to those addressed on the invites. We know what goes into making prior arrangements for this to work and we are greatly appreciative of this in order celebrate with us - it means the world!

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We ask that you kindly put your phones and cameras away during the ceremony as we want you all to be present with us in the moment. We have a professional photographer and videographer capturing the ceremony for us. Other than the ceremony, yes! Take as many as you would like. We will also have QR codes for a digital camera upload to share your POV!

Question

Is the wedding outside?

Answer

Yes! The ceremony + reception will be held on the beach and dinner will be served in an open air "indoor" space.

Question

What form of payments are accepted in Puerto Vallarta?

Answer

While the Hyatt Ziva is all inclusive, cash tips (pesos or usd) are widely accepted and greatly appreciated to your servers, bar staff, etc. Outside the resort most bars, restaurants, and stores accept credit cards! However, you should carry additional cash for things like taxis, smaller purchases and tips. We recommend exchanging money ahead of time through your bank. *Remember to alert your Credit Card company that you are traveling internationally*
