Meow Wolf Denver's Convergence Station
Ever have a weird fever dream? Ever experimented with hallucinogens? Do you have a vivid imagination? Perfect! You'll want to carve out a few hours and visit Meow Wolf. It's just room after room after room filled with bizarre imagery that overloads the brain in the best way possible. It's all captivating, sometimes interactive, and never dull. Secret rooms, maximum weird everywhere you look, and endless ways to navigate through this surreal & psychedelic... uh... place.
Casa Bonita
"The food alone will bring you back." In 2018, Johanna surprised Michael with an excursion to this legendary & iconic Colorado staple. Michael knew ZERO about Casa Bonita but it quickly became an experience he'd never forget. In 2018 the staff looked like they were being held captive and too defeated for a complete mutiny and the food had no right to be served to humans, but the company was wonderful. Everything featured in the South Park tribute episode (Cliff Divers, Black Bart's Cave, SOPAPILLAS) to Casa Bonita is all still there and WAY better. The creators of South Park did the right thing to restore this unique "entertainment" gem to a whole new level. Is it the best Mexican food you could have in the area? Still no, but long gone are the worries you'll end up in the hospital afterwards. Highly recommend getting reservations months before.
Torchy's Tacos
Most of you coming to the wedding have likely already been to or at least heard of Torchy's - Why the heck is this fast-casual taco chain even on our places to visit? Well, a few years back when visiting Johanna's homeland, she suggested Torchy's and now Michael insists on at least one trip there every time they return together. Bottom line Torchy's offers a big selection of different tacos, they have decent Sangria for a fast casual spot, but... it's really all about their queso. You're doing a Torchy's visit all wrong if you don't get the queso.
Wax Trax Records
It's one of Johanna's favorite record stores growing up and still to this day. She took Michael here in 2018 and most of his suitcase was all vinyl found here. Reasonably priced and huge crates to dig through for a mom & pop record shop that's been around since 1975.
