The resort is family friendly and all inclusive! It's located in northwestern Costa Rica, on a protected bay between two national parks. There are pools as well as a beautiful beach, a spa, entertainment, and multiple restaurant and bar options on the resort. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us or Lucy with any questions! We are happy to help! Additionally, check out the link below for a very thorough review with info and pictures that we found to be helpful in learning more about the resort. https://thepointsguy.com/reviews/dreams-las-mareas-review/
Being a part of the Preferred Club gives you a couple of extra perks. You are able to access a quieter, private bar/lounge that is for PC members only, there are different top shelf liquor options available to you, and there is a PC only pool/bar. In our research and through talking with our travel agents, you will not feel like you are missing out on anything or separated from others if you are not in the Preferred Club. Some people have even noted recently that the resort doesn't regulate who goes in to the PC pool/bar so anyone can use it, however, we can't confirm that that will be the case when we are there. If a Preferred Club room and status interests you, but you'd like a different room than the PC ones in our room block, don't hesitate to reach out to our travel agent to see what is available.
We have been told that all rooms have robes, clothing steamer, umbrella, a mini fridge with drinks that is refreshed daily, and a coffee maker. There is a hair dryer but we've heard it's one speed only so perhaps pack your own. There is also WiFi and 24 hr room service.
No, you do not. Costa Rica has the same two or three prong outlets that we have in the States.
Though this is an all inclusive resort, tipping is highly encouraged. Please consider tipping your bartender, housekeeping staff, waitstaff at restaurants, tour guides, etc. From our research, US dollars appears to be the preferred money for tipping and paying for tours. We recommend you plan to bring money in small bills ($1, $5, $10) so that tipping is hassle free. Cash seems to be preferred for purchases and excursions.
Yes, there are two ATMs at the resort and you can get American dollars from them.
Yes, there is a laundry service available at an additional cost. You will find a laundry bag in your closet and a form to fill out. Clothes received Monday-Friday will be returned within 24 hours, Saturday and Sunday is 48 hrs.
Download the "Hyatt Inclusive Collection" app for free to your phone. Once downloaded, open the app and search for Dreams Las Mareas Costa Rica to select. The app is a place where you can make live requests for maintenance, housekeeping, amenities, laundry and room service. You can see the restaurant hours, menus and dress codes, a resort map, the evening entertainment, the day's activities and more. The app is a must have resource!
Some of the restaurants have a dress code labeled "Casual Elegance". This is described as: sneakers/tennis shoes or sandals, and dress shirts with short sleeves or collars shirts. Long pants required for men. No sleeveless shirts or flip flops.
Yes, there is a store where you can buy souvenirs and merchandise. Rumor is that it is a little pricey. If you or a friend have a rental car, there are shops in La Cruz about 20 mins away.
