FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

May 9, 2026

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We suggest arriving to the Chicago Botanic Garden by 5:00 PM at the absolute latest, to give you time to park (there unfortunately is no reserved parking), and then walk to the Rose Terrace for the ceremony that will begin at 5:30. There will be signage directing you to the ceremony once you enter the Botanic Garden. Our wonderful musicians will be playing pre-ceremony music starting at 5:00pm.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

While the Botanic Garden unfortunately does not allow us to reserve parking for our wedding, they provide free parking for our guests. When you enter the parking lot please say that you are here for the Petrich/Miller wedding. Ubers are also able to enter the venue and drop off and pick up.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our wedding is outdoors. However, the ceremony is shaded, and the reception is under a pavilion.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes, we request black tie or formal attire. Ladies: Formal, floor length dresses. They do not need to be black! Gentlemen: Suits with a tie or bow tie.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

This is an adults-only celebration. If you need help finding childcare, please reach out to Halie and she can connect you with local babysitters.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Please check your invitation to see if it says "and guest."
