We definitely recommend lots of relaxing by the pool! The King and Prince has poolside towel service and seasonal poolside dining at The Sea Shack. St. Simons also has great flat walking beaches and the resort has direct access. If you desire even more activity, there are tennis courts and a fitness center on property.
The King and Prince is about a mile from St. Simons Village. Overlooking the ocean and Jekyll Island across the way, you'll find tons of shopping and dining options in this area. We definitely recommend exploring here for meals on your own! Some highlights: Brogen's Georgia Sea Grill Mullet Bay Moo Cow Ice Cream St. Simons Island Pier
Also close by in the village and first constructed in 1807 by James Gould on Couper's Point, this towering, 104 foot lighthouse was reconstructed in 1872 on the same site to replace the original which was destroyed by retreating Confederate forces in 1862. A beautifully restored 1872 lighthouse keeper's home complements the lighthouse.
Bikes are a fun way to get around the island and explore the village! Ocean Motion Surf Co, near The King and Prince, has rentals (as do many places in the village).
If you're looking for some more history and ready for a little drive, this is a beautiful spot to visit. Fort Frederica illustrates the story of the War of Jenkins Ear (1739-1748) and how its British defenders fought off the Spanish Army. Today, archeology has uncovered the story of the 1,000 people that once lived here.
