FAQs

The Wedding Website of Chloe Elliott and Michael Greenhaw
Question

Is there a dress code ?

Answer

We are thrilled to celebrate our special day with you on the beautiful coast of Georgia! Our wedding will be an elegant Southern affair and we kindly request elevated cocktail attire. This means stylish cocktail dresses or sharp suits, with black tie optional for those who wish to go a bit more formal. Your presence is what truly matters to us. *For Ideas, see https://www.theknot.com/content/cocktail-wedding-attire

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

We are reserving our space for children to those of immediate family. Although we absolutely adore all of your babies, we kindly ask you not to bring your little ones unless otherwise been asked to. If you need childcare, we recommend you reaching out to Sitters by the Shore (a licensed child care company). https://sittersbytheshore.com/

Question

Can I bring a plus 1 to the wedding?

Answer

Please refer to the # of guests invited on your personal invitation. If your invitation does not include a plus 1, please do not invite one (even though we can't wait to meet that special someone soon). Seats are limited at our dinner reception.

Question

Will there be transportation provided ?

Answer

Yes, complimentary transportation will be provided to and from both Sea Palms Resort and Grey Owl Inn. Pre-ceremony, the shuttles will arrive to the two hotels at 3:15 and will wait 10-15 minutes before departure. If a second run is needed, the shuttle would return at approximately 3:45. Return transportation will begin at 10:00 pm and will run continually until midnight.

Question

What is the Transportation Schedule?

Answer

Transportation Pick-Up: 3:10pm at Host Hotels (Please be at the front of your hotel at this time). Check back here for up to date transportation schedule closer to our wedding day. ○Transportation Return: Shuttles will run from 10:00pm up until 12:00am for guests departure and will return guests back to the host hotels.

Question

Can I drive myself to the ceremony and reception? Is parking available?

Answer

Yes and yes! Parking is available at both the ceremony and reception, and the two venues are within 2.5 miles of each other. ○We are offering transportation as a safety guideline for guests who would like to enjoy cocktails.

Question

I have dietary restrictions. How should I handle this?

Answer

There will be specific questions regarding dietary restrictions on your invite RSVP.

Question

Will there be an open bar at the wedding?

Answer

There will not be any alcohol served or allowed at the ceremony. There will be a cocktail hour immediately following the ceremony, and drinks served throughout the rest of the evening.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Weather permitting, all parts of the wedding will be outdoors. The ceremony will be under an open-air, covered pavilion. Cocktail hour will be outside and the reception will be under a Sperry Cloth tent with a wooden dance floor. ○The after party will be indoors.

Question

Is St Simons Island a busy destination?

Answer

Normally, SSI is a very laid back destination with beautiful scenery, nice beaches, chic boutiques and wonderful restaurants. All those elements will still be present on the island, but since the SEC decided to schedule The Worlds Largest Cocktail Party, UGA/FL game the same weekend, the island will definitely be a lot more busy. Please plan accordingly and make accommodations sooner rather than later. We advise you to make dining reservations as soon as you know your travel dates especially if there is a favorite place you are wanting to revisit or try.

Question

Are golf carts allowed on the island?

Answer

Yes! Golf carts are allowed on roadways with a speed limit of 25 mph or less. We recommend High Tide Carts if renting a cart for your time on SSI.

Question

Will the UGA/FL game be televised at the wedding?

Answer

The UGA game begins at 3:30 on 11/2/24 and our wedding begins at 4:30. There will not be a TV at the ceremony, but we will most definitely have one nicely tucked in a corner at the cocktail party. Go Dawgs!
