One of our favorite bars in Durham. Great spot for conversation, late night grub, and laid back atmosphere. Check out Kingfisher downstairs for fancy cocktails and ambiance.
Sarah P. Duke Gardens
A wonderful (free) botanical garden on Duke's campus. Great place to explore on a beautiful June day. Stop by Cocoa Cinnamon on Chapel Hill for some churros to take with you on your explorations!
Durham Farmers' Market
Shop local produce, baked goods, and crafts, all grown or made within 100 miles of Durham. Only open Saturday between 8AM-12PM. (We had our first date under the awning in Central Park. It is also where we got engaged <3)
M Sushi
All of the "M" restaurants are incredible (4 in Durham, all within a block of each other) and each has its own specialty. You should make a reservation in advance; most of their dinning rooms are quite small.
Little Bull
Come share seasonally-inspired, American-fusion small plates lovingly created by proud Mexican immigrants and Mexican Americans. Y'all - everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING, we've eaten here has been amazing, and the ambiance is great. You will almost certainly need a reservation, so please book in advance!
Rubies on Five Points
I mean, are you trying to dance? If so, check out the DJ lineup for this REALLY FUN late-night spot. The bar below, Remy's Lounge, hosts Lady Gold Tacos, which serves Mexican food until midnight (veg/vegan options available), just in case you imbibe too much or have an after dinner craving for some quesadillas or frito pie!

The Chicken Hut
**Only open for lunch on the WEEKDAYS** but absolutely worth it. Credit cards accepted, but cash is preferred. I know this is a strong statement, but, in my (cc) professional opinion, Chicken Hut serves some of the best fried chicken in the world. Go on Friday and you'll be forced to choose between the chicken and their southern-style oxtails, which is my (again, cc) favorite meal in Durham. Don't sleep on the mac and cheese. Second oldest continuously operating restaurant in Durham. Proudly Black owned.
Saltbox Seafood Joint
Local celebrity Chef Ricky cooks whatever comes in fresh from the coast daily. Experience the most delicious fried fish and honey hushpuppies outside in the sunshine with some lemonade or sweet Southern tea.

Get your brunch on with all locally sourced, delicious food (more than just donuts, but those are fire too!).
Eno River State Park
We are so lucky to have miles of stunning trails winding through lush forest all along the Eno River and its tributaries. Let us know what you're looking for - leisurely walk, long hike, or swimming hole (!!) - and we'll point you to the right entranceway.
