Falling in love at a coffee shop

Beth was working in a local coffee shop here in Enterprise when a very tall, very handsome man strolled in asking for a cold brew. She was in the middle of baking and casually began asking his opinion about how to turn her bars into a peaches and cream flavor without ruining the soft base. As he spoke to her, she realized she was listening to the voice she wanted to hear for the rest of her life. Snapping out of her daydream, they chatted for a bit and she made his coffee. He didn't appear again for a few weeks, but everyone around her could tell she had a new spark in her eye. One Sunday she was hanging out at the same shop, off-shift but helping another barista when low and behold, her peaches and cream man entered. She was thrilled, but tried to play it cool, as all girls about to fall head-over-heels do. They chatted again, and she talked him into a game of chess instead of studying, mainly because she wanted to get to know him more and was afraid he would disappear for weeks again. The chess board in the coffee shop was already occupied, so Beth got creative and drew a new game board by taping pieces of paper together. She was that desperate to be in this man's company, because she could tell he was something special. By the time she was done, the chessboard was free, but this young soldier took on the mission of playing on a hand-drawn board anyway. They laughed and he whipped her in chess, and she worked up the courage to get his phone number, to "challenge him to a rematch, of course!" and to let him know what baked good the shop would have. They always say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. After several missed signals and a first date where Beth invited a friend along and broke Michael's vape, they finally became an official couple over Jimmy Johns sandwiches when Michael called Beth his girlfriend.

Love you a latte

As they grew in love, Michael decided it was time to take the next step. They had always discussed marriage and were both positive that that's where their lives were heading with each other. As the months went on, jokes erupted about sneaking to the courthouse and eloping, but Michael knew Beth wanted to have something special to start their lives off together. He used a trip with friends to Disney World to set up the perfect magical moment. He planned and plotted for weeks in advance, while Beth (ever oblivious) was simply thrilled about getting to share the Magic Kingdom with him. Michael recruited the help of their friends, her mother, and her father to pick a ring and pick the best time to pop the question. As the trip progressed, Beth tried keeping plans as loose as possible to accommodate everyone's wants, while they were trying to help Michael pop the question by asking what the plans for the day were. She never makes things easy! Throughout the trip, Michael had to find a way to keep the ring hidden. He wrapped it in a pair of socks and claimed he wanted to bring them to the park in case his feet got wet on Splash Mountain. Beth packed them in her backpack and didn't catch on then either. When entering the park, her backpack began to tear so she stopped to buy a new one. Michael purchased one too, which should have been a huge hint for her because he is not one to buy souvenirs, especially ones with giant Mickey Mouse pictures on them at $40 a pop. She just thought he was finally getting into the Disney Spirit! It turns out he needed a way to hold the ring. As they roamed the park, their friends were on alert, ready to snap the pictures at any time. Michael didn't feel that the moment was quite right, so he waited until that night in Epcot.

Epic Epcot Engagement

She almost ruined it for herself as they prepared for Epcot that night. Michael called security at the parks to make sure they would not remove the ring in front of Beth, and she almost interrupted the phone call. He had to quickly cover for why he was on the phone, so he claimed he was seeing if Epcot did any extra military specials. Beth quickly said no as she stressed about the uber arriving to get them there on time for their dinner reservations. The whole time planning the trip, Michael asked for a few nice pictures while down in Disney. As they entered Epcot, time was of the essence. Beth knew how serious Disney was about their dining reservations and she did not want her group hungry! Michael suggested they take separate bag check lanes (as they suggested on his phone call earlier so Beth wouldn't see the ring) so they could move through faster. As they cleared security, they quickly acquired a photo spot and took photos for their friends in front of the Epcot ball. It came to be Michael and Beth's turn. Beth obliged while nervously checking her watch the whole time. Their friend offered to take bags for them out of the picture, not realizing that Michael had the ring in his bag either, so Michael had to quickly deter him so the surprise wouldn't be ruined. After teaching her friends how to use the camera, they took some nice photos that Beth thought would probably be good for their picture book. Michael requested that they take just one more, a silly one perhaps, and Beth prepared to jump. It was Michael who took the biggest leap of his life as he surprised her, getting down on one knee as Beth exclaimed "No, you are NOT doing this here!" in total shock and surprise. As she tried to keep herself standing, Michael said, "I brought to you the most magical place on earth to ask if you will be my wife. Will you marry me?" With utter joy, she exclaimed yes. Amid cheers and claps, she only saw him and the smile she would love for the rest of her life.
