The Ceremony

1:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Villa Maria by Breitenbush River

The clearing called Villa Maria is a lovely meadow surrounded by Douglas Fir trees and bounded by the Breitenbush River. Back in the 1960s, it was the site of a very large A-frame structure owned by Father Neugebauer, a Catholic priest, who gave the place its name. Unfortunately for the Father, the river in a fury decided to change its course one winter day in 1977, carving a new path that led straight under Father N’s A-frame, dropping the huge building into the river where it broke apart like a tall ship on a reef in a gale. The Villa Maria meadow has continued in its quiet way ever since, undisturbed by human buildings or specific denominational rituals. The meadow is lovely in all seasons, a place free for reflection, ceremony, celebration and the love of nature and all things sweet and good. Show up as early as 12pm to get situated and cozy. See FAQ for details and weather related stuff.

Pot-Luck and Party

2:30 pm

Conrad's cabin

Come as fancy or casual as you like! Word to the wise; avoid wearing high heels as this is an outdoor event. Since we are hoping for late summer weather, please be prepared with warm clothes.

Conrad's cabin is just a short walk back down the road from the ceremony. Follow the parade of celebrants and ease into an afternoon and evening of casual potluck food and drink, as well as dancing and merriment. We are encouraging those that want to participate in the potluck to do just that! Please contact us with your culinary details!
