We highly recommend setting aside an hour to stroll around historic downtown Leesburg. Some of our favorite spots include a charming breakfast spot called Cowbell Kitchen, a cocktail bar called The Docket (located behind SideBar), and a whiskey bar with a local history-inspired menu called Rebellion.
This is a little out of the way, but it's a great spot to grab a beer.
If you have time to add a trip to Washington DC to the schedule, here are some of our favorite things to do but don't hesitate to reach out for additional recommendations. You can take the metro all the way into DC from the Ashburn Station or Dulles Airport. - Grab breakfast at Yellow in Georgetown. Make sure you order the Batata Tots! - Snag a drink at ChurchKey where we had our first date! - Check out some wildlife (including Bald Eagles if you're lucky) at Dyke Marsh Wildlife Preserve. - Best Buns in Shirlington has amazing breakfast sandwiches and iced coffee (the secret is that their ice cubes are frozen coffee). - Explore the gorgeous views and architecture of the Kennedy Center where we took our engagement photos.
