We met over nine years ago at Matt's high school basketball game. Michaela had gone with a few friends to the game and her friend pointed out that "she should date one of these Covenant boys because they were all tall", and then points to the court and says "what about that one"....and eight years later we are happily engaged.

We were traveling to Capri, Italy and had the most magical day. We took a ferry to the island and rode the chair lift to the top of the island, called Anacapri. We got to the top to enjoy the beautiful view and wanted to take a picture. We got a couple to take our picture and Matt asked "are you in your best outfit", and once he got the yes that this was a great outfit, he got on one knee and said something really amazing and sweet that we both can't remember because we blacked out from happiness. The girl who had been dating the same boy for eight years and traveling to Italy with was somehow completely surprised that she was getting proposed to. We got great pictures and a video of the event. After saying "oh my gosh, and I can't breathe" for a while, Michaela said yes and they lived happily ever after.
