While you’re here for the wedding, we highly recommend spending some time in Old Colorado City, a charming and historic part of town that’s full of local flavor. Nestled at the foot of Pikes Peak, this vibrant district is lined with unique shops, cozy cafes, art galleries, and locally-owned restaurants. It’s the perfect spot for an afternoon stroll, a relaxed brunch, or a little souvenir shopping. Old Colorado City also holds a special place in our hearts. It’s where we had our very first date! We met for dinner at Mother Muff’s, a fun and casual spot known for its comfort food and laid-back vibe. It’s still one of our favorite places, and we’d love for you to check it out while you’re exploring. Whether you’re grabbing a coffee, enjoying a patio lunch, or just wandering the historic streets, Old Colorado City is definitely worth a visit during your time in Colorado Springs.

Stroll along the main street and you’ll find local art galleries, unique boutiques, and plenty of places to grab a snack or sweet treat. If you’re up for a little adventure, you can try sampling water from the various mineral springs around town, each with its own natural flavor and history! For those wanting to take in the views, the Manitou Incline is nearby (a famous stair-stepping trail up the mountainside . . . only for the brave!), or you can hop on the Pikes Peak Cog Railway for a scenic ride to the summit. Whether you’re looking for something relaxing, adventurous, or just a fun afternoon out, Manitou Springs is the perfect little getaway during your stay.

Whether you’re chasing views or just want to enjoy a peaceful drive, it’s absolutely worth a visit. There are a few different ways to experience the summit: 🚗 Drive the scenic Pikes Peak Highway 🚃 Take the Cog Railway for a relaxing and breathtaking ride 🥾 Or, for the adventurous, hike up one of the challenging trails! At the top, you’ll be greeted with jaw-dropping panoramic views (on a clear day, you can see as far as Kansas!) and a visitor center where you can grab the famous high-altitude donuts, yes, they’re real and totally worth it.
