Things To Do

We fell in love with the Big Island on our last visit, in part, because of the many outdoor activities available. While not attending the ceremony, we recommend taking advantage of the Big Island's natural wonders, including:

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, HI 96778

Driving through the national park is like nothing you have ever seen. Of course, finances and time permitting, the best way to view the park and surrounding waterfalls is from a helicopter tour (offered from Kona)

Papakōlea Green Sand Beach

Naalehu, HI 96772
, (808) 464-0840

1 of 4 green sand beaches in the world. Hint: pay for one of the locals to take you in their truck to the beach once you arrive at the parking lot.

Waipio Valley

HI 96727

Moderate hike, but worth the views at the bottom, including a semi-private black sand beach and view of a waterfall crashing into the ocean.

Punalu‘u Beach

HI

Classic black sand beach. Worth the visit!

Kona Coffee Living History Farm

82-6199 Mamalahoa Highway, Captain Cook, HI 96704
, (808) 323-3222

Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii

Waimea, HI 96743
, (808) 885-2000

Our hotel. Access to the beach on property.

Holualoa Inn

76-5932 Mamalahoa Highway, Holualoa, HI 96725
, (808) 324-1121

The wedding ceremony and reception venue.
