Things To Do

There is so much to do at Wintergreen from hiking, mountain biking, golf, archery, tennis, and spa. Check out the Wintergreen's webpage for all the activities offered by the resort. https://www.wintergreenresort.com/Activities-Home/

Wintergreen Hiking

Wintergreen's trail system covers an assortment of terrain throughout its 35 miles, both valley trails and mountain trails. Wintergreen lies in a section of the Blue Ridge Mountains called Old Appalachia where rock formations were formed approximately 1.1 billion years ago during a collision event called the Alleghanian orogeny. Two of the recommended trails are The Plunge and Upper Shamokin Falls Trail. The Plunge is one of the shortest trails on the mountain and provides a spectacular view. Good picture shot. https://www.twnf.org/the-plunge/ The Upper Shamokin Falls Trail is one of the most popular and beautiful hikes on the mountain. Follow the sound of the falling water to the falls. https://www.twnf.org/upper-shamokin-falls-trail/ The Nature Foundation maintains the trail system. Check out their website for videos and details about each trail. You can also buy a trail map at the front desk for $3.
