Bearwallow Mountain Trail

2 mile out-and-back (or a loop if you take the access road), easy to moderate hike with a big pay off in the form of great views. Access the trailhead from the South (North access still damaged after Helene).

Black Balsam Knob & Tennet Mountain

Another great trail accessed from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Easy to moderate with excellent wilderness views. You can make this a ~5 mile loop by continuing down Tennet mountain and taking Ivestor Gap Trail back to Black Balsam Road. Park along Black Balsam Road or at the parking lot at the end. Bring hand sanitizer if you plan to use the facilities (and maybe a wet wipe or two).

Looking Glass Rock Trail

Six mile out-and-back, moderate hike. Great views and you may spot a white squirrel!
