The Portland International Jetport (PWM) is conveniently located within the city, and is serviced by most major airlines. If you prioritize direct flights Boston is a good option. You can then take a bus, train, or car rental to Portland. More details can be found in our travel section.
We will provide transportation from the hotel to the wedding ceremony and then back to Portland for the reception. Shuttle will depart from the AC Hotel (Thames Street side) at 1:55 PM. The reception is within walking distance to most downtown hotels.
If you’re staying at the AC Hotel or another nearby hotel, we encourage you to use hotel parking. Ocean Gateway has a small visitor lot that can accommodate about 30–40 vehicles. It’s located off Commercial Street, just before the venue entrance. There are two garages within walking distance: Ocean Gateway Garage – 167 Fore Street Casco Bay Parking Garage – 54 Commercial Street Handicap accessible parking spaces are available on the pier at Ocean Gateway. From there, guests can take the ground-level elevator up to the reception space. You are welcome to park near the reception venue and then utilize the shuttle to get to the wedding ceremony.
Maine is NOT the tundra, but it will be cold. Having a warm winter coat is a must. There is an interesting story that our former Governor Angus King enjoys sharing about the ice storm of 1998 (IYKYK) and being prepared for inclement weather. Utility workers from North Carolina were flown in to help restore power, however, they arrived underdressed necessitating the provision of brand new L.L. Bean jackets and boots. We unfortunately will not be providing those items.
We’re are excited to celebrate with our family and friends! As much as we love your little ones, we’re keeping the guest list small and are only including children in our immediate families. Thank you for your understanding.
