Maid of Honor
If you know Nhi at all, you know that Thanh and her are a package deal. Thanh is not just Nhi’s cousin, but more of a sister. Together since they were in diapers, Thanh has taught Nhi the importance of showing up for those you care about and taking time to laugh no matter how hard things are. Thanh is someone who never fails to make you laugh and feel seen. Arguably one of the most important people to the bride, Thanh can best be summed up as “a ray of sunshine with the chance for lightning.”
Best Man
Nhi isn’t the only Vietnamese loved one in Micah’s life. Andy and Micah go back to middle school band class. A friendship turned brotherhood, Andy has been Micah’s best friend from the start. Someone who is selfless, caring, adventurous, and patient. Andy reminds Micah to always smile and to not take life too seriously (especially video games).
Bridesmaid
Ironically, meeting in 6th grade Social Studies, Kristine and Nhi’s friendship is one for the History books. Kristine is what one would call a ‘soul sister’ to Nhi. Sharing SO many commonalities with the bride (e.g. The love for all things Taylor Swift, Books, Harry Potter, Food, etc.) it is a bit alarming. Kristine has taught Nhi the importance of striving for greatness, keeping a level head when faced with a challenge, and that life is meant to be LIVED!
Groomsman
Micah was first introduced to Emilien through Tom, and for that Micah will always be grateful. Do you ever just meet a person and instantly want to be their friend? Likely, that person is Emilien. Someone who is humble, kind, hilarious, and honest. Emilien has taught Micah that true friends are hard to come by and the importance of resilience.
Bridesmaid
The best word to describe Kristina and Nhi’s friendship is ‘serendipitous’. After a single lunch during their time in nursing school at VCU, Nhi knew Kristina was going to be in her life forever. Kristina has taught Nhi to never take herself too seriously, that it costs nothing to be a kind human, and most of life’s problems can be solved with all-you-can-eat sushi and a great best friend. Watch out for this silly goose on the loose.
Groomsman
From middle school band class to late-night hang out sessions at Tom’s place; Tom has always been a great source of joy for Micah. Tom is someone who is warm, loving, sarcastic, and hilarious. Tom reminds Micah to always have fun and that it is important to never settle for anything that does not bring you happiness.
Bridesmaid
Meeting first in high school color guard, Brenda is one of Nhi’s most prized best friends. Brenda is the calm in every storm, someone who is easy going, and exudes beauty from within. Brenda has taught Nhi that authentic friendships are able to withstand both distance and time. Some of Nhi’s favorite memories were made on Marshall/Ross/Target runs or laying around being “couch potatoes” Brenda reminds Nhi the importance of slowing down to appreciate all that life has to offer.
Groomsman
Arguably someone who is most like Micah, Sam is like a walnut – hard to crack, but very sweet on the inside. A man of few words, but all of them so beautiful. Sam is a risk taker, an amazing friend, and someone who wants what is best for all of those around him. Sam has taught Micah that rewards in life are often worth taking the risks for.
Bridesmaid
Also meeting in high school color guard, Gellaine is also one of the most important best friends Nhi has. Gellaine is the epitome of “sunshine” and never fails to make those around her feel cared for and seen. Gellaine has been an exceptional role model to Nhi, and taught her to have the confidence to express herself and to not care about the opinion of others. If you have never seen Gellaine dance or sing, you’re missing out! Catch her tearing up the dance floor!
Groomsman
First meeting through Virginia Tech quidditch, Andrew (Koh) has made himself the glue of the 7800i clan. Koh is someone who has the beautiful gift of uniting people, keeping them humble, and always making them laugh. Someone who is not afraid to dig deep. Koh reminds Micah to always make time for those who are important to him.
Bridesmaid
Starting first as Nhi’s sorority “Little” during her time as a part of Gamma Delta Sigma at Virginia Tech, Kendall and Nhi’s friendship has only grown stronger with time. Kendall has taught Nhi that being a best friend means showing up during the good days and the bad ones, and the importance of self-care when faced with hard times. Kendall also brings out the creative side in Nhi, and allows her to be open and honest without fear of judgement.
Groomsman
First meeting through Virginia Tech quidditch, Ivan quickly became an important person in Micah’s life. Ivan is caring, generous, and always willing to go-with-the-flow. Someone who is so down to earth, has taught Micah to never take life too seriously.
Bridesmaid
Meeting during their time in Teach For America in Rhode Island, Nhi and Sara bonded over weekly margaritas and chimichangas at El Rancho Grande, Sara is wise beyond her years. Always being so open-minded, Sara has taught Nhi the importance of taking a step back and looking at the big picture. Sara encourages Nhi to be her authentic self and consider all points of views. Sara is someone you always want in your corner through the peaks and valleys of life, because you know she has the brains, beauty, wisdom, and patience for all of life’s challenges. Nhi is glad to have Sara in her corner, and hopes she knows Nhi will always be in hers.
Officiant
Although Patrick originally started off as one of Micah’s college roommates, Patrick has quickly become one of Micah and Nhi’s most cherished friends. As a man of many (funny) words, and a performer of movie quotes – Patrick never fails to make the bride and groom laugh until their cheeks hurt. To know him is to love him (and question your sanity). There is no other person Micah and Nhi could imagine marrying them.
