Our ceremony and reception will occur at Hammond Castle Museum at 80 Hesperus Avenue, Gloucester, MA 01930
The ceremony begins at 6:00pm, followed by cocktail hour and reception at the Hammond Castle Museum. Last call will be at 9:30pm, and everyone will be asked to leave by 10:00pm for clean-up.
We will have our ceremony and reception at Hammond Castle Museum. There will be markers and signs to indicate how to come around the castle, but generally, after coming down the path from the parking lot, please cross in front of the drawbridge and around the side of the castle through the garden. This will lead you directly to the back of where the ceremony will occur, which will allow you to take your seats up the aisle.
Cocktail hour will occur from roughly 6:30pm to 7:30pm. It will include passed hors d'oeuvres of vegan black bean tacos, braised short rib and parsnips, bacon-wrapped scallops, vegan samosas, and tandoori chicken skewers. We will have a full open bar, including two signature cocktails. We encourage guests to socialize throughout the museum (this is a great time to check out the courtyard and look at the museum artifacts)! Drinks will also be available during the dinner reception.
We will start the reception around 7:30pm. This will consist of an introduction of the couple, followed by toasts, before we begin our three course sit-down dinner. The dance floor and mini pie dessert bar will open after our second course.
Please wear cocktail attire, though feel free to make it festive! We are getting married in a castle and we welcome our guests to have fun with the theme. No full costumes please, but feel free to play with it. Cocktail attire generally includes a suit with jacket and tie, or a dress/skirt of knee-length or longer.
Parking is available in the Hammond Castle Museum parking lot. There are also a number of side streets nearby that you can park on as well. Please note these streets are residential, so please do not block any driveways.
If you are family, please reach out to one of the mothers of the couple. The couple will be doing a lot of last minute planning details, and this is the easiest way to ensure your reply does not get lost in the shuffle. If needed, you can also reach out directly to the couple via email (garrisondesany@gmail.com). If emailing, please specify it is about the wedding, include your full name (so we can double check the guest list), and the number of people and entrees you would like.
Please put the number of entrees you would like in the boxes, as opposed to a single check mark. For instance, if you have a family of three and would like one duck entree and two vegan entrees, please put "1" in the duck box and "2" in the vegan box, and mail the card back.
The majority of our menu is gluten-free. The vegan tacos, short rib, and chicken skewers are gluten-free hors d'oeuvres (three of five hors d'oeuvres). The first course salad and all the second course entrees (duck, beef, and the vegan pasta) are gluten-free. Finally, our dessert is also gluten-free.
Please select the vegan entree options on the RSVP card so we can plan accordingly. Two of our five hors d'oeuvres are vegan (the black bean poblano taco and the samosas), and we have a vegan option for the first course and entree.
Our entire menu is nut-free.
It is an open bar. There will be two signature cocktails available, an optional wine pour at dinner, and a sparkling wine toast. Sparkling non-alcoholic cider is available for the toast, as well as non-alcoholic soft drinks throughout the evening. We encourage guests to consume responsibly, and we reserve the discretion to ask guests who become too intoxicated to leave.
