Thanks to the internet and the fact they found each other moderately attractive, Mica & Nick matched on Hinge. After some casual app chat back & forth, they agreed to meet for their first date halfway between their two cities in Long Beach, CA. On their second date they played cornhole and when he handed her the bean bag and said 'You got this Olson' she had a crazy thought that she could marry this man. Then when Mica actually beat him, he knew she was the real deal too. After a few dates they realized they liked each others personalities just as much (if not more) than their pictures on the screen. 2019: "The Honeymoon Phase": - Nick and Mica went on dates galore - dinners, sporting events, parties, ski trips. Nick even asked Mica to go to a wedding with him after only 2 months and she of course was like, Heck ya - let's do this thing. 2020: "....." Long walks, game nights (if you know, you know), white claw, flora & fauna, more long walks 2021: "The actual real deal" - After a year and a half Nick and Mica moved in together in the same city as their first date, Long Beach! They created a home together, and even though they were now living and working together, they still liked being around each other. So they took that as a positive sign. They then went to live and work in an even smaller space for an extended time in New York City. 2021 was filled with seeing friends, meeting families and many mini adventures.

Nick had known for a while that he wanted to marry Mica, but he just needed to plan the perfect proposal. No pressure. First he got the ring, then he told her they were going out of town on a random weekend. She had no idea where, this was going great. Then as they packed the car and started driving, it was clear where they were headed... the Long Beach airport. Once they arrived there, Mica had a pretty good idea of where they were flying - Reno/Tahoe - but Nick was still hoping the proposal would be a complete shock (*Full disclosure - she definitely kind of knew*). Once they landed, they got their rental car and started driving to one of her favorite places in the world... Lake Tahoe. Eventually they made it to Kings Beach where Nick set up a beach blanket for the two of them to "read their books & relax" while they passed the time before their dinner reservation... or so she thought. After asking her to stand up, Nick got on one knee and grabbed her hand. This was it. He had a speech prepared and as he was finishing he pulled a ring from his pocket & asked her to marry him. And she of course said - Heck ya - let's do this thing!
