Take in the fall colors and go apple picking!
Stroll down Lake St E along Lake Minnetonka and take in all of the shops and restaurants. Our favorite places to eat are 6Smith, Macanda, Cov, McCormick’s, and The Grocer’s Table. For something quick try Penny’s Coffee, Woullet Bakery, Crisp & Green, or Punch Pizza.
Walk down Water St and enjoy the quaint town of Excelsior on Lake Minnetonka. Excelsior boasts great boutique shopping and fun, casual restaurants. For food, we recommend the famous Maynard’s, Olive’s Pizza, Yumi Sushi, Coalition, Red Sauce Rebellion, Layline, MontegoBlu, and Bull & Wren. Once you grab your coffee from The Lobby Coffee & Leisure, stroll down to Lake Minnetonka for a walk along the shoreline, or hop on the Lake Minnetonka Regional Trail if you really want to get your steps in.
If you’re looking to experience the city life while you’re in town, we recommend checking out our neighborhood of North Loop! For a quick bite or coffee we recommend Fairgrounds Coffee, Backstory Coffee, Runyon’s, Pura Lima Cafe, or Sweet Green. Restaurants we recommend are Red Cow (located conveniently underneath our apartment), Billy Sushi, Bar La Grassa, Guacaya Bistro, Red Rabbit, Maison Margaux, or Butcher & the Boar. If you’re looking to grab cocktails, check out Hewing Hotel's rooftop, Flora Room, the speakeasy at Maison Margaux, Edward’s Dessert Kitchen, or Cobble Social House. For nightlife, check out The Loop, Smack Shack, Cuzzy’s, or Basement Bar. For a fun daytime hang, check out Graze Provisions and Libations. If you’re looking to venture further, head across the river to Northeast Minneapolis. This is the hot spot for breweries and distilleries - many within walking distance of each other. Plenty of great restaurants to enjoy as well!
Located right next to the airport is one of the biggest malls in the US. If you forgot to pack something, or just want to do some retail therapy, this place has it all. If you don’t want to fight the crowds at MOA, check out Ridgedale Mall, located 10 minutes from downtown Wayzata, downtown Minneapolis, and the host hotel.
