We will be providing group shuttle transportation from Florence Airport on the afternoon of June 20th. The bus pickup must be at FLR as traffic is restricted into the city of Florence. We will be reaching out via email at a later date with exact shuttle times, pickup location, and shuttle sign up once these details have been finalized. Shuttles will leave FLR for Ristonchi as follows: -1:30 PM Bus 1, Group 1 (20 guests) -2:00PM Bus 2, Group 2 (20 guests) -3:00PM Bus 3, Group 3 (20-40 guests) It is about a 45 minute drive from FLR to the Castello. Likewise, on Monday June 23, Shuttles will be leaving Ristonchi between 8am and 11am to return guests to FLR Airport. Shuttle departure times will be as follows: -8:00 & 8:30AM First buses leave the castle (this group arrives to airport at 9:30 & 10AM) -11:00 & 11:30AM Final buses leave the castle If you prefer, you can take a taxi or rent a car if you plan to continue to travel on your own. Please note- there are little to no Ubers in Florence so it is not advised to rely on ride sharing apps. If you are arriving at a time outside the group shuttle window, you can also arrange private transport by contacting: Fabrizio at Tasting Tuscany Roads. +39 339 329 1522 or tastingtuscanyroads@gmail.com (Whatsapp is a great way to communicate with him, he speaks English well.)
Rental Car
Castello di Ristonchi is 35Km from Florence center. (Around a 45 minute drive). A rental car is the easiest and cheapest way to get around Tuscany. There is free onsite parking for all guests. Please note that Ristonchi is located in the Tuscan hillside off a narrow country road. Those who have driven in Italy before are familiar with how narrow these 2 way roads can be. Those who have not or are hesitant when it comes to international driving may prefer to take the group shuttle.

Travel Note
Starting in mid-2025, US citizens will need to register for ETIAS before traveling to Italy. It is unlikely as of now that the ETIAS requirement will be active by June, however we’ve included info on it just in case. ETIAS is an electronic travel authorization (a simple online form that can be completed on your phone) and most receive their approval within the same day. The cost of the ETIAS Travel application is 7 Euro, so be sure to have a payment card on hand when applying. The exact date to apply for this authorization has not been announced so check back often as we will update this info. The main document needed to apply for an ETIAS in Italy is a valid passport. Upon arrival in Italy, a passport should be valid for at least 3 months beyond the expected date of departure.
