Thank you all for checking in on our family in Jamaica following Hurricane Melissa. Our loved ones are safe, but many others need help. If you’re able, please consider donating to Food for the Poor (www.foodforthepoorja.org). Feel free to give in lieu of a wedding gift.

Question

Is your wedding venue/family okay after Hurricane Melissa?

Answer

We have had tons of folks reach out to send their love, which we so deeply appreciate. While the east side of the island fared well (including much of Chelsi's family and the wedding venue), the west side of the island suffered tremendous damage. If you are able to help, please consider donating to Food for the Poor (www.foodforthepoorja.org). Please feel free to donate in lieu of a gift for the wedding.

Question

Do I need a passport or visa to travel toJamaica?

Answer

If you are flying to Jamaica from the United States, you will need a passport. As of right now, no visa is required.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to the limited capacity of our venue, we are unable to accommodate additional guests. Thank you for your understanding.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We love your little ones—we really do! However, we’ve decided to make our wedding an adults-only celebration. We hope this gives everyone a chance to relax, let loose, and enjoy the evening with us. Thank you so much for understanding!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We are requesting Caribbean formal attire. Think suits, mid-length to long dresses. Please keep in mind, this will be a garden wedding and Jamaica can be hot. For the ladies, a Pintrest board is linked below if photos or inspirations is helpful. https://pin.it/3WvPrPRJx

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Ceremony and reception will be outdoors. The nights in Jamaica in March should be around 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit. We will be in the mountains at night! Please bring anything you will need to make you feel comfortable (flats, a light jackets, etc.).

Question

What else is good to know before traveling toJamaica?

Answer

Kingston is known for its beautiful mountain scenery and vibrant urban core. If you’re hoping to enjoy a beach getaway before or after the wedding, we recommend taking a taxi or bus to Montego Bay, Negril, or Ocho Rios. While you’re here, we encourage you to shop, dine, and stay with local Jamaican businesses to support the community. Please note that some of the island still operates primarily with cash, so we suggest exchanging U.S. dollars (USD) for Jamaican dollars (JMD) to make payments for taxis, meals, and other expenses easier.

Question

Who should I contact if I have additional questions?

Answer

Robert loves a question (and is frankly, better with texting back). Please contact him at (937) 661-5195.
