Chelsi and Robert met studying abroad in Valencia, Spain and became fast friends. They would often do face and hair masks in Chelsi's room and took many trips to LUSH. On the last day of study abroad, Robert emotionally told Chelsi he was sad their time in Spain was coming to an end, and that they'd be friends for life. Chelsi was sure they'd never see each other again and their friendship would be a memorable flashpoint in her life. After they had parted ways, Robert randomly called Chelsi one day, and then the next day, and the next day after that. They talked on the phone almost everyday for two years before (finally!) deciding to meet up. In the best and worst timing, Chelsi was moving to Austin, Texas for grad school when they decided to meet up. Robert agreed to fly to Miami from Ohio, and drive Chelsi the 19 hours up to Texas and help her move into her first apartment.... as friends! As you can see, "friendship" totally worked out for them.

Robert gaslit Chelsi for months into thinking he didn't want to go ring shopping to the point where she may have been starting to get a little salty. What she didn't know was he had bought and paid off the ring and was waiting for the right time. Robert popped the question on their big summer trip to Europe. He officially popped the question in their Airbnb in Copenhagen, Denmark, because Chelsi figured it out early (she's annoying, we know!) and ruined his surprise of proposing at sunrise in Nyhavn. Both proposals were perfect❤️
