Stephanie and Brian met at their friends' wedding in Ann Arbor on September 3, 2017. Stephanie and the bride, Danielle, were sorority sisters at UC Davis, and Brian played intramural kickball with Danielle and Kevin, the groom. Brian first noticed Stephanie as she was dancing along to "Don't Stop Believin'" -- and singing into her champagne glass like a microphone. Brian couldn't help but go up to Stephanie and start dancing with her. At the end of the wedding, Stephanie and Brian exchanged phone numbers, and arranged for their first date at Beer Grotto, one of their favorite local spots.

On November 1, 2020, Brian took Stephanie to their fall-favorite date location, Blake's apple orchard. Stephanie was a bit suspicious, since Brian insisted on apple picking on a particularly cold and windy autumn day. As they picked apples with frozen hands, Brian led Stephanie down a row of trees to reveal a flannel blanket with a hay bale, a bucket of apples, twinkling lights, and a sign that read, "I Pick You." Once they reached the blanket, Brian got down on one knee and Stephanie enthusiastically said "Yes!" Stephanie was then surprised to see her maid of honor, Evelina, and Brian's brother, sister, and sister-in-law pop out from the trees to congratulate them. Following the proposal, everyone headed to Blake's tasting room to celebrate with donuts and hard cider. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
