Question

Will vaccinations be required to attend the wedding?

Answer

Yes - due to the recent COVID mandates in effect for NY State, all guests will be required to show proof of vaccination to attend our wedding. This means that by January 8th, you will need to have either received your single dose (J&J) or your second dose of a 2-dose vaccine series. Please make sure to bring your vaccination cards and IDs as the venue will be checking upon arrival.

Question

Where is the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Both the ceremony and the reception are taking place at the Whiteface Lodge in Lake Placid, NY (roughly 5 hours driving distance from NYC in the Adirondacks). The Ceremony is in the Main Lodge and the Reception is in the Clubhouse - both buildings are connected through an underground tunnel so there is no need to go outside! Following the ceremony, you will be instructed by event staff on how to get to the reception building.

Question

Will we be outside?

Answer

No - Once you arrive at Whiteface Lodge you will be able to stay inside from the ceremony through reception. However, for those of you who want to explore the grounds, there are fire pits and "lean-to's" on the grounds for you to enjoy!

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Please see "Travel" tab for more information regarding our room blocks + additional lodging options within Lake Placid. All of the hotels in the area are amazing so you really can't go wrong, but we highly recommend staying on-site at the Whiteface Lodge if you can - Paul and I will be staying here with our family and bridal party! There are so many amazing amenities and activities and it will be convenient for you to be staying on-site.

Question

Is there a shuttle service?

Answer

Yes, shuttle services will be provided to and from the Whiteface Lodge. Pickup/Drop off locations include our hotel blocks (see below locations) and the After Party (the Pickled Pig). PRE-CEREMONY: Pickup times from Hotel Blocks going to Whiteface Lodge: 2:10 PM - Marriot / Crowne Plaza 2:25 PM - Hampton Inn / Golden Arrow 2:35 PM - High Peaks POST-RECEPTION: Pickup times from Whiteface Loge, going to Hotels: 9:30 PM / 10:00 PM Pickup times from Whiteface Lodge going to Hotels/After Party: 10:45 PM / 11:30 PM Pickup times from the After Party going to Hotels: 12:00 AM / 12:45 AM / 1:30 AM / 2:15 AM For those who wish to drive, there is valet parking available at Whiteface Lodge ($6 per car for non-hotel guests) and there are also Uber services available in the area but we suggest calling in advance to reserve your car. *Please note that all guests are required to wear masks when riding shuttles.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The event attire is Formal, so we encourage tuxes and gowns but also welcome cocktail attire - whatever makes you feel your best! Also, there is a slight walk (indoors) between the ceremony and reception spaces, so please keep that in mind when choosing which shoes to wear - plus we want you to be comfortable dancing with us all night long! Also, the average temperature in Lake Placid in January is high of 26° / low of 5° and on average they get snow 4 days a week - it.will.be.cold so please make sure to wear a warm coat to travel to the venue - coat check will be available. You will be indoors upon arrival for the duration of the wedding and our ceremony/reception spaces are very cozy, but it's never a bad idea to pack a shawl to throw over your shoulders.

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

1. Your COVID vaccination card and ID to attend the event. 2. WARM CLOTHES!!! Lake Placid will be cold, so you want warm clothes for the weekend and a warm coat to wear on your way into the venue. A shawl to have on hand during the wedding is recommended, but the space will be warm and cozy. 3. Your dancing shoes! We want to see you up there with us all night. 4. A bathing suit (for guests staying at Whiteface Lodge) - yes, you read that correctly. There is an indoor/outdoor heated pool that is one of our favorite experiences at the hotel that you will want to take advantage of! Swimming while it's snowing is pretty fun. 5. And just your positive attitudes - we've all been through enough over the past 2 years and deserve a good time together. Looking forward to being in a room full of the people we love most celebrating our marriage! We love you guys!

Question

Can I bring a +1?

Answer

Unless your invitation is specifically addressed to your significant other or "guest", then we ask that you please attend solo. We have a very big family and the best friends that will open their arms to you - but our venue cannot physically hold any additional guests. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Can we bring our kids?

Answer

While we would absolutely love to have your little ones... we are at max capacity for our venue and cannot have any additional guests. You are of course more than welcome to bring them for the weekend if you would like and have babysitting services available, but we cannot include them in our wedding related events. Thank you for your understanding.

Question

Can I bring my pup?

Answer

Please feel free to bring your furry friends! Both the Golden Arrow and Mirror Lake Inn Hotels are pet friendly Room Block Options. However, please consider the hotel pet policies and fees - most hotels require that you do not leave the dogs in the room unattended.

Question

What if there's snow?

Answer

We hope there is snow for the big day but not enough to keep everyone from traveling safely!! We encourage guests to plan on arriving a day or two before the wedding if possible, to give you ample time to safely get to Lake Placid and plan around the weather accordingly. We have driven to Lake Placid from NYC during the winter on several occasions and they are extremely good at keeping the roads clean and safe - knock on wood we have never had any issues.

Question

Will you accommodate food allergies/diet restrictions?

Answer

Of course - please make sure to list ALL food allergies/dietary restrictions on your RSVPs so we can be sure to accommodate you.

For all the days along the way
