Can I bring a guest / date?

Answer

If you received a plus one, your guest's name is listed on your invitation and will appear under your name when you RSVP. Otherwise, we would love to keep the wedding as an intimate event with family and close friends. Thank you for understanding!

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your little ones! However, unless your children are listed on your invitation and when you RSVP, this is an adult only event. We encourage you to use this evening as a date night.

Will there be a shuttle to and/or from the hotel?

Have you reserved blocks of rooms at one or more hotels?

Answer

We are excited to inform you that we were able to arrange a group rate for our wedding at the Mystic Lake Hotel & Casino. We have received a special group rate for bookings on 08/14/2025 and 08/15/2025. Please mention "Abney/Dockendorf Wedding" when you arrange your reservation via phone (952)-445-9900. Or you can make your booking online by visiting the link: https://mysticlake.reztrip.com/ext/promoRate?property=1290&mode=b&pm=true&sr=1022730&vr=3 If you are planning to book prior to 8/14/2025, please let us know so we can notify our Event Planner for special rates. Please make an arrangement before 07/16/2025 as we have a cutoff date for the bookings. After 4:00PM Central Time on 07/16/2025 (the "Cut-Off Date"), the unused portion of the room block will be released. Any reservation requests received after this Cut-Off Date will be accepted on a space available basis, at the standard guestroom rates of hotel then in effect.

What is the weather like in the area?

Answer

In Minnesota, August marks the continuation of summer, with warm temperatures prevailing but beginning to show signs of gradual cooling as the state approaches autumn. In the northern regions, temperatures may range from 50°F (10°C) to 70°F (21.1°C), while in the southern parts, they usually lie between 60°F (15.6°C) to 80°F (26.7°C). Snowfall remains a non-factor in August, while rainfall persists, particularly in the southeastern regions.

What food will be served and what if I have dietary restrictions?

The Menu option is listed when you RSVP Online. Chicken - Herb & cider roasted chicken breast with light calvados sauce. Pork - House-smoked pork loin green apple chutney. Vegetarian.

What time is the reception scheduled to end?

Answer

Our reception starts at 5:00 PM Cocktail hour with the formal dinner service starting at 6:00pm. The whole thing wraps up at about 11:00 PM! We have open bar with a designated time, and I our late-night stations start at around 9:00pm-10:00pm and goes for about two hours.

Answer

There is no after party. However, if you are a guest at the Hotel or would like to join. We are planning to attend the Cosmic Bingo at midnight. More details to follow.

Last minute changes, If a guest cannot attend the wedding after sending the RSVP?

We understand that things can change, and we appreciate you trying to save our date. However, if in the event you cannot make it to the wedding after sending your RSVP as 'yes'. We would greatly appreciate if you can let us know ahead of time.
