Question

How do I get to the Venue?

Answer

We have two recommended ways to get to the venue: by car or by shuttle. For those driving: -if you are driving from the north, take I-205 south to exit 16, go left and then right on SE 92nd Avenue, then left on SE Causey Avenue, and take that road until you find the Aerie at Eagle Landing on your right. -If you are driving from the south, take I-205 North to exit 14, go straight through the first intersection and then right on SE Sunnyside Road, go left on SE Stevens Road, turn right at the first light to continue on SE Stevens Road. Continue straight through the roundabout and turn right onto SE Causey Avenue at the next major intersection. Follow the road until you find the Aerie at Eagle Landing on your right. -If you are staying at the Courtyard Marriott in Clackamas, take SE 93rd Avenue (the road across from the entrance of the hotel to SE Sunnyside Road, and then follow the directions from that point as described in the "driving from the South directions" -Keep note that, if you are driving on SE Causey Avenue and you end up in a roundabout, you have gone too far. Just use the roundabout to turn around and take the first left. For those who are not driving, we will have a shuttle available to take you to and from the venue free of charge from the Hyatt Centric. Shuttle times, dependent on traffic, will be at 1:45 PM and 2:45 PM to the venue, and 10:15 PM and 11:15 PM from the venue.

Question

How should I travel while vising Portland?

Answer

There are multiple options to traveling around Portland! We recommend using a car to travel around when possible as parking is usually fairly accessible no matter the location, with most residential street parking being free. Uber and Lyft is also available throughout the city, along with radio cab as detailed in the "Travel" section. For those who prefer not to or are unable to use a car or a cab, there are plenty of other options available. Four public transit systems are available within the city and surrounding suburbs, with three in common use: the Streetcar and the Trimet MAX rail systems, and the Trimet bus system. Details on routes and fare can be found in the "Travel" section. Please note with the MAX light rail that its routes covering the East side of Portland mainly follow the interstates or major roadways rather than popular districts and locations, so you will likely need to use it in combination with the bus system in order to go to popular areas such as the Hawthorne District, Division, and Alberta Arts District. Of note is that the Green MAX line can be used to travel to the near the venue, although please note that using uber from the station will still be necessary to actually reach the venue. Like many cities currently, Portland currently has a bike-share system in use called BikeTown. After downloading the Biketown app on iOS or Android and creating a membership, Bikes cost $1 to unlock and are $.30/minute for usage. More information can be found at https://biketownpdx.com/. Finally, Portland is a very walkable city, especially on the West Side, so feel free to walk around as well, although keep in mind the caution areas as mentioned.

Question

What should I be aware of while visiting Portland?

Answer

-Portland has a high rate of car break-ins. Therefore, we highly recommend that you do not leave anything visible in car, even non-valuable items. -Take caution walking around Old Town, Lloyd Center, and the area west of SW Park Street and north of SW Alder Ave, especially at night.
