Their story starts the way many Wisconsin love stories do - in Colorado. Hailey moved to Colorado in 2016 and made friends that were all also from Wisconsin. Five years later, Michael made the same move out west and they were introduced at a backyard cook out through mutual friends. Over the months that followed, they attended the same concerts, weekend gatherings, and sporting events. According to Michael, he was very consistently, subtly, (and not so subtly) flirting with Hailey, and she was completely oblivious...for many months. According to Hailey, that’s probably true. Eventually, Michael asked Hailey out and she told him: “ask me again when we’re sober.” Who knew this would prove to be a bigger challenge than intended, but then again, they’re both from Wisconsin. They finally went on their first date on February 2, 2022 where Hailey beat Michael in his favorite game, bowling. After that, they were in it, and had found something much more than either of them expected, the beginning of their lives together.
