Things To Do

The listings in Oakland are all near the venue, which is in Jack London Square. The listings in Alameda are either on Webster Street, or near Park Street. Any listings on Webster Street are within walking distance of the Hawthorn Suites Inn. Park Street is the other "main drag" in Alameda, and is about a 10 minute drive from Webster Street.

Everett & Jones Barbeque - Broadway

126 Broadway, Oakland, CA 94607

A local favorite.

NōKA Ramen & Bar

90 Franklin Street, Oakland, CA 94607

A very colorfully-decorated anime themed ramen restaurant.

Plank

98 Broadway, Oakland, CA 94607

The food is only ok, but it might be a fun spot with kids as there's an arcade and bowling inside

Heinold's First and Last Chance Saloon

48 Webster Street, Oakland, CA 94607

Dive bar on a "sinking" ship; a classic Oakland spot with an outdoor patio

Merchants' Saloon

401 2nd Street, Oakland, CA 94607

The ultimate local dive bar -- "poisoning Oakland since 1916"

Ceron Kitchen

1619 Webster Street, Alameda, CA 94501

The fancy option; great food and cocktails but on the pricier side

1400 Bar & Grill

1400 Webster Street, Alameda, CA 94501

Solid pub food; big outdoor patio with heat lamps

The Fireside Lounge

1453 Webster Street, Alameda, CA 94501

Cozy bar with a fireplace and sometimes live music, trivia, etc. The food next door at Calafia Taqueria is good too

Pacific Pinball Museum

1510 Webster Street, Alameda, CA 94501

Pinball! Vintage and new games

Embarc Dispensary

1616 Webster Street, Alameda, CA 94501

For those who partake; there are three dispensaries in Alameda, but this is the best shopping experience

Jim's Coffee Shop

2333 Lincoln Avenue, Alameda, CA 94501

Greasy spoon diner; good for breakfast (served all day)

Sidestreet Pho

2304 Encinal Avenue, Alameda, CA 94501

There's a ton of Pho spots on the island, this one is the best

Burma Superstar

1345 Park Street, Alameda, CA 94501

I've never ordered anything here that wasn't amazing. The Tea Leaf salad is a best seller

Taqueria Mi Burrito

2321 Alameda Avenue, Alameda, CA 94501

Great burritos, great value, limited seating

Lucky 13

1301 Park Street, Alameda, CA 94501

A fun and lively bar, you can order from Scolari's next door and they'll deliver it to the bar (the fried chicken and the blueberry burger are worth the price).

La Penca Azul

1440 Park Street, Alameda, CA 94501

Huge Mexican restaurant, open late night, and their taco bar (around the corner on Santa Clara) is great

High Scores Arcade

1414 Park Street, Alameda, CA 94501

80's arcade games; pay by the hour or get an all-day pass

Alameda Point Antiques Faire 1st Sunday every month

3900 Main Street, Alameda, CA 94501

If you're still here Sunday, this is a huge monthly event with hundreds of vendors selling pretty much anything you can imagine. The price of admission decreases as it gets later in the day and kids under 12 are free. You could spend most of the day here and not see everything.
