Updates/ FAQs

Hi friends & family. Like with most 2020 happenings, we have made some drastic and challenging changes to our wedding day. Please know we do plan on having a larger celebration once hugging is allowed!
Question

What's the current plan?

Answer

Rodney & Meredith plan to have a small, intimate ceremony at the original wedding venue. Currently, regulations are limiting ceremony attendance to 30 people - meaning the ceremony will be immediate families and wedding parties only. The bride and groom will then travel over to Fischer Orchards for a small, outdoor reception. The reception will still be a limited guest list to abide by local regulations and prioritize everyone's health and safety.

Question

What steps will be taken to ensure health and safety of guests?

Answer

The whole reception will be held outdoors and in a space large enough to allow for social distancing. There will be pleeentyy of hand sanitizer for everyone to use! We are encouraging everyone to quarantine as much as is feasible (& even get COVID tested if possible) prior to the event to ensure the health of other guests. Masks will be worn by guests when not seated at their table for dinner or sipping cocktails at a safe distance. The dinner will be served by professional catering staff all wearing appropriate PPE.

Question

What county is the wedding in?

Answer

The Tin Roof Barn is in Klickitat County, which is currently in phase 2 of reopening (see below for Washington's specific regulations). This is why we have to keep our ceremony to less than 30 guests total (immediate families and wedding parties). The reception location (Fischer Orchards) as well as the hotel on our travel page are in Hood River County. Hood River is continuing to allow outdoor gatherings up to 100 guests if social distancing is maintained.

Question

What are the active regulations surrounding weddings in WA state?

Answer

Currently, weddings are allowed to occur with a limited number of guests to allow for social distancing. There are various other regulations impacting catering service and seating assignments for guests. Last week, Washington's governor released new regulations that go into effect August 10th. This will prohibit receptions and further limit the amount of people allowed at the wedding ceremony. Unfortunately, there has not been an end date announced for these new rules.
