Flight
This will be your go-to airport for the weekend. ***Note for out-of-town travelers: We have been making our flight reservations through Southwest since the start of the covid-19 pandemic. Southwest will never charge you to change or cancel your flight. We've changed our flights two or three times now and have had absolutely no trouble--the process is quick and easy and everything can be done online. Fares are low right now, so it may be a good idea to lock in a good rate with the security of knowing that you can change anytime should the need arise. Also, in addition to your carry-on and personal item, they also offer two free checked bags with each seat!
Rental Car
For those who prefer to get around New Orleans by car, there are plenty of options for you at the New Orleans airport. Parking shouldn't be an issue--many hotels offer valet service and there is also plenty of street parking. Over the years, we have found our best car rental deals on the website linked below. There is no cost to book, and cancellations are free, which makes getting the best deal a breeze and gives you plenty of security during this uncertain time. If renting a car isn't for you, New Orleans is well-equipped with rideshare options, so you should have no trouble getting around. The city is also generally walkable, depending on where you decide to stay.
