Public park at the north end of Canandaigua Lake. Mer and I got engaged in the gazebo! Park includes a lakeside walking path from Hotel Canandaigua into town, kids playground, public water access for kayaking or paddle boarding, and gnarled old willow trees.
Brewery/bar closest to Canandaigua Hotel, located along Kershaw Park, where we got engaged :). Known for having outdoor music and trivia nights!
Another fantastic brewery located about half a mile from Hotel Canandaigua and walking distance from Main Street center. This spot is a Miller Family favorite for their Just Fruit blends and colorful merch.
Our favorite coffee shop in town! If you enjoy a good long walk, you can take the Ontario Rail Trail from Main street and in about 15-20 minutes along the railroad tracks you will hit our favorite "hidden" gem. Amazing coffee. Amazing pastries. Amazing breakfast sandwiches! No notes.
Rumor is that our wedding weekend will be the last weekend that the best ice cream shop in town will be open! Located just off Kershaw Park on your way into Main Street. Beware their sizes, they are generous with their portions. Kiddie is small (it's not small), Small is Large, and anything above Medium can be shared by 2 adults or a small family of 4.
Second favorite coffee shop in town. Also amazing pastries and breakfast sandwiches here. Vegan options as well!
Artisinal Pizza also located on main street. Need I say more?
Very lovely restaurant in walking distance from downtown! Upscale dining, but reasonable prices. Highly recommend the cocktails at the bar! This is the restaurant Lea and I went to after we got engaged
Wood-fired pizza you can enjoy on the lakeside docks.
Best bar and restaurant along the water! Located at the Lake House Hotel near Hotel Canandaigua, you couldn't get a better view of the lake from a lakefront table as you could here. A little pricey, but amazing food and amazing drinks!
Best dive bar in town! Your classic pool and darts bar.
Local olive oil and balsamic vinegar producer featuring unique flavors. Stop in to sample some of their creations.
Another Miller Family favorite for their delicious crepe selections and boozy brunch options.
Beautiful gardens and great place to hang for a few hours! There's also wine tasting inside :) Walking distance to main street. Sonnenberg park nearby also has pickleball courts available!
Indoor pickleball courts
Beautiful gorge in Naples, NY about 30 minutes away from Main Street Canandaigua. About a mile round trip of a hike, nothing too strenuous! No hiking shoes necessary, there are ways to walk around the water.
A gorge hike more strenuous than Grimes Glen but still lots of fun. You will get wet on this ride so wear waterproof shoes with a strong grip as the "trail" goes through the river and requires scrambling up small waterfalls. In Mer's words, this is a "slippety-slidey-rocky-thingy" hike. If you are afraid of heights, Alison and Tracey recommend going up the land-based trailhead for dry views from the top of the gorge and avoiding the waterfall route. One or two waterfalls are large enough to require use of installed ropes. 2.5 miles round trip if you go up via the waterfalls, around the top edge of the gorge and back down the dry-side.
Located inside an old school building, this cafe has some of the biggest and best pancakes, waffles, biscuits and baked goods in Naples. Perfect spot to head to right after a smaller hike in Grimes Glen ! HIGHLY recommend if you have the 30 minutes time to head outside of Canandaigua to the opposite side of the lake. Plus, the drive is also beautiful.
Might be pretty self explanatory here!
Scene of the big day! Mer and I will be getting married at the Summit on Saturday but Bristol has a lot of day-time activities to explore throughout your stay. There are fall skyrides and a high ropes course for the adrenaline inclined. Check out their website for details.
Local distillery with live music, elevated bar-food, a fantastic brunch menu, and views of the Naples Valley.
Adorable restaurant perched on the edge of the Inspire Moore boutique winery. A Naples staple.
Fun little spot for a short hike not far from the Miller Family Cottage. Trailhead maps talk about the local history of Canandaigua and the top has nice views of the lake from above.
Great spot for local cider tastings, live music, and plenty of open space for kids to run around. Recommend getting a flight and enjoying some of the scattered camp fires.
Mennonite farmstand offering the best fresh produce and baked goods. Stop by to pick your own flowers and see what seasonal pumpkins, gourds, and vegetables their fall harvest produces!
A historic museum that's fun for the whole family! Check out their interactive exhibits on the evolution of toys and games.
Check out this nationally-ranked brewery! Excellent brews and delicious foods.
